Zenn-Lavians are an extraterrestrial humanoid race native to the planet Zenn-La.

History[]

Spared by Galactus[]

The Zenn-Lavians were threatened when the cosmic being Galactus arrived to consume their world. Appealing to the Devourer, a scientist named Shalla-Bal offered herself to be his herald, being taken by Galactus and transformed into the Silver Surfer. For her sacrifice, Galactus spared the Zenn-Lavians and their planet.

Honoring Shalla-Bal[]

Long after Shalla-Bal's departure, her people continued to send messages into space honoring her sacrifice for them.^[1]

Characteristic Traits[]

Zenn-Lavians have many shared physical traits to humans, such as skin, hair, height, and proportions. Their language is similar enough to human language that Human Torch was able to decode Zenn-Lavian phrases by only hearing a few words translated by Shalla-Bal.
