The Zehoberei[1], or Zen-Whoberian[2] are a green-skinned extraterrestrial race from the planet Zen-Whoberi. The most notable member of their species is Gamora.
History
The Zehoberei are the inhabitants of the planet Zen-Whoberi. Due to overpopulation, poverty and starvation were a commonplace issue across the planet, so much so that the planet became an early target of Thanos. The warlord obliterated half of the Zehoberei species, since which its remainder, according to Thanos himself, has lived in prosperity due to issues like poverty and wasting of resources becoming non-existent with a smaller population. This claim is disputed by the Nova Corps database, which states the race is now extinct with Gamora as the last survivor.
Gamora was taken in during Thanos' attack as his adoptive daughter and trained as his assassin.[3]
Characteristic Traits
The Zehoberei are a humanoid race that are distinguishable from Humans for numerous biological traits of note. The differences of the Zehoberei compared to the human race is their light green skin pigments, their facial bone structure is somewhat different than humans, dark hair, which gradually fades into a reddish color at the tips, the presence of a second liver, which allows Zehoberei to enjoy a larger number of alcoholic beverages than other races[4], and skin tissue that is more resistant to physical harm.
While weaker than certain species, such as Asgardians, the Zehoberei's skin is much more durable than a human's skin. The increased tissue density also contributes somewhat to their physical strength.

- In the comics, the Zen-Whoberi is a race that was completely wiped out by Adam Warlock, one of Thanos' greatest enemies and Gamora's recurring love interest.
- Gamora has distinctive markings on her forehead and cheeks. This may be a result of her cybernetic augmentation, or it may be a trait shared by other members of her race.
- In Guardians of the Galaxy, Gamora's rap sheet says, "Last survivor of the Zehoberei people." However, in Avengers: Infinity War, Thanos is shown to have only massacred half of the Zehoberei people, and says to Gamora, "Your planet was on the brink of collapse - I'm the one who stopped that. You know what's happened since then? The children born have known nothing but full bellies and clear skies, it's a paradise," claiming that the Zehoberei people still live.
