Yelena Belova purchased her vest prior to 2016. She was drawn to it due to its surplus of pockets, which Belova would be able to use to hold plenty of things. She also made her own modifications to the vest. The vest became a symbol of freedom to Belova since it was the first piece of clothing she had ever purchased for herself.[1]

In 2016, Yelena Belova wore the vest while helping Natasha Romanoff take down Dreykov and the Red Room. After the success of their mission, Belova gave the vest to Romanoff as a parting gift before they went their separate ways.[1]

From 2016 to 2018, Natasha Romanoff wore the vest during her time in hiding with Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson. She wore the vest to rescue Vision from the attack in Edinburgh, the return to the Avengers Compound, and during the battle in Wakanda.[2] Following the Snap, she wore it again into space to Planet 0259-S to ambush Thanos.[3]
