Xu Wenwu (Mandarin: 徐文武) is an ancient warlord who discovered a set of mythical rings and founded an army known as the Ten Rings, whom he commanded for millennia. He and his army were abducted from their home reality by Doctor Strange and kept frozen in the Sanctum Infinitum, but a prison riot set them free to take part in it. Eventually, all the inmates were nearly dropped into the Forge, but Wenwu aided his savior, Kahhori, by giving her his Ten Rings before she sent him home.
Biography[]
Early Life[]
Xu Wenwu was an ancient warlord of China who discovered a set of mythical weapons known as the Ten Rings. He then founded an army named after his weapons and commanded it for millennia, growing old in the process.[2]
Doctor Strange's Captivity[]
Kidnapping and Rescue[]
Xu Wenwu and several of his men were captured by Doctor Strange Supreme and was trapped in a pocket dimension bubble within the Sanctum Infinitum. Strange intended to sacrifice him and other universe killers to the Forge. He was first spotted by Captain Carter as Strange showcase her the universe killers he had captured. Later, Wenwu was freed from his bubble by her along with other prisoners and started to fight against each other. Xu was seen with two of his men, telling in Chinese Mandarin to the inmates to bow to the Ten Rings or they will send them back to where they came from. Later in the battle, Wenwu punched an Einherjar and then focused on a landed Killmonger. However, just then, two Thors throwed the powers of their respective hammer against each other, resulting in an electric explosion that blinded the Chinese man for a short while. Xu Wenwu was among the surviving inmates that were sent to the Forge. In the final battle against Strange, Wenwu throwed his Ten Rings at Kahhori, who shortly after returned him and his surviving members back to their universe.[2]

- Sanctum Infinitum: Wenwu was taken from his home reality and imprisoned in the Sanctum Infinitium by Doctor Strange. In a confrontation between his kidnapper and Captain Carter, he was freed from captivity and joined a fray between his fellow inmates. Later, Wenwu was nearly dropped into the Forge, but was sent back to his home reality by Kahhori.
