The X-Ray Plate is a S.H.I.E.L.D. gadget used by Grant Ward to sneak into T. Vanchat's apartment and steal the Chitauri Neural Link for Maria Hill before Vanchat could sell it on the black market.

During a mission in Paris, agent Grant Ward of S.H.I.E.L.D. was given the task of breaking into the hidden vault belonging to the international criminal and black market dealer T. Vanchat and steal a Chitauri neural link which had somehow come into Vanchat's possession in the aftermath of the Battle of New York. Getting into the room, Ward disguised himself as a waiter, getting into the room, used the X-Ray Plate to locate the safe and breaking inside. When Ward was discovered by a woman in the room who called security, Ward used the plate as a weapon.[1]
