James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes, better known as Winter Soldier, is a merryman and a member of the Avengers.

Winter Soldier stealing Loki's treasure
Winter Soldier was a member of a band of thieves working in the forest under leadership of Rogers Hood. Winter Soldier, Rogers Hood, and Ant-Man robbed Prince Loki's carriage, where they encountered a version of Margaret Carter from another universe known as Captain Carter.

They returned to their hideout and celebrated their victory. However, it was soon interrupted by the arrival of Harold Hogan, who attacked the camp with his army of Royal Yellowjackets. As they fought off the Yellowjackets, Winter Soldier opened fire at Hogan, although Rogers Hood warned him not to make Hogan mad. Carter was captured, allowing the others to flee. However, Carter escaped from captivity, and the Avengers reunited with her, as well as Tony Stark and Bruce Banner.

They formulated a plan to steal the Scepter from King Thor so they could use the Time Stone to reveal the Forerunner that was causing the rifts that were destroying their reality. Winter Soldier and Ant-Man went in disguise at a court session and waited for the signal. Once a fight broke out between the Avengers and the Einherjar, Winter Soldier joined in, and found himself fighting against Red Skull. The fight ended when Rogers Hood was revealed to be the Forerunner, so he was sent back to his time.[2]
