Prior to his coronation ceremony, Thor was given a winged helmet by an Einherjar as part of his ceremonial outfit, and Loki complimented on its aspects, although Thor was sure that Loki was actually making fun of him. After remaining alone for some time, Thor proceeded to the Hall of Asgard, his helmet still in his hand as he encountered his mother Frigga.[2] Thor then wore the helmet as he approached the throne where Odin awaited him, and removed it before bowing to the King of Asgard and swearing to protect the Nine Realms. Thor, however, did not get the chance to wear his helmet again, for the rest of the ceremony was interrupted by an attack from the Frost Giants.[3]

During the Attack on New Asgard, Thor would encounter Mighty Thor. Questioning who she was, he put on his own winged helmet to match her until she removed her helmet, causing Thor to have a panic attack, with Thor eventually removing his helmet to breath.
