Whiplash #1 is a United States Air Force pilot. He, along with Scott Campbell, was tasked with inspecting a mysterious flying object in Afghanistan's skyline, using the F-22 Raptor.
Biography[]
Encountering Iron Man[]
The Air Force detected an unknown presence that was part of the Battle of Gulmira and who also blew up a nearby weapons depot. In response, the Air Force sent Whiplash #1 and his partner, Scott Campbell, to identify the object. Since the suspected UAV did not surrender or respond to radio contact, command center gave the go-ahead to engage the target. Campbell tried to shoot it down with missiles and bullets, but with little success as the target deployed flares and evaded them, eventually dropping off of the radar.
However, while the object tryed to evade the attack, Whiplash #1's Raptor lost its left wing when it accidentally collided with the object during the chaos of the battle. Whiplash #1 ejected shortly afterwards, but his parachute jammed. Before he could hit the ground, the object dived down to help him release his parachute before escaping.[1]
