What If... Howard the Duck Got Hitched? is the fourth episode of the third season of What If...?
Synopsis[]
While on vacation, Howard the Duck and Darcy Lewis face dangerous factions from across the galaxy.
Plot[]

Darcy the Duck births an egg
Following a party that Thor and his friends threw on Earth, during which Darcy Lewis married Howard the Duck, she gives birth to Howard's child. As the two hold the egg, Darcy wonders what kind of creature would hatch out of it, and Howard himself is unsure as well. Meanwhile, the intergalactic guests that Thor invited decided to stay on Earth, connecting the planet with the rest of the galaxy. One day after putting their egg to sleep, the Ducks get visited by Topaz who invites them to Grandmaster's Grand Cruise Across the Stars.

Grandmaster prepares a feast
Howard and Darcy take the egg with them and get abord the SS Grand Master, unaware that they are being watched by someone who is interested in their child. Grandmaster welcomes the pair on his ship and immediately takes interested in the egg, suggesting to put it under his care while Howard and Darcy could enjoy some free time. Darcy is hesitant but Howard reluctantly decides to trust Grandmaster and lets go of the egg. Grandmaster then takes the Ducks to a brunch but to their horror, they find out that their egg is supposed to be a main dish. Before he can announce the brunch, Yondu shows up and intercepts the egg, taking it away with him.

S.H.I.E.L.D. gets involved
Escaping from Grandmaster's forces, Howard and Darcy steal Commodore to pursue the Ravagers, but they manage to get away through a Jump Point. They are deeply distraught by the loss of their child, and Darcy contacts S.H.I.E.L.D. to ask Nick Fury why is their egg is so sought after. Fury tells them that Darcy's due date coincided with the Convergence, which could mean a sign of birth of a new power that is the Ducks' child. Howard then eavesdrop on Phil Coulson telling Fury that S.H.I.E.L.D. tracked down the Ravagers on their way to the Collector.

Dormammu awaits the egg
Yondu arrives at Collector's Museum with the egg, where Carina introduces him to Kaecilius, as the Collector was currently trapped in Mirror Dimension. Yondu claims that the egg is a rare commodity and increases his price for it, but Kaecilius says that Dormammu does not bargain and takes the egg from him and leaves with Carina, while Zealots kill Yondu. Howard and Darcy land on Knowhere and traverse the sewer system, before infiltrating Zealots during their preparation for the ritual. They find out that Kaecilius is planning to offer their child to Dormammu as a host so he could be reborn anew beyond the Dark Dimension.

Loki's resort
Suddenly, the ritual gets interrupted by S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, as Fury and Coulson confront Kaecilius and take over the egg, claiming that they are taking in into their custody. Howard and Darcy immediately protest but Fury insists that the egg is too powerful and cannot be entrusted to them. Before they can process it, Kaecilius transports everyone into the Mirror Dimension, resulting in S.H.I.E.L.D. and Zealots fighting over the egg, while Howard and Darcy manage to recover it in the chaos. As the Ducks escape with their child on Commodore, S.H.I.E.L.D. issues an intergalactic Ivory alert to find and recover the egg. Seeking a place where they can lay low with the egg, Howard takes them to Jotunheim and Loki agrees to provide them with shelter.

The chase for the egg
At that moment, S.H.I.E.L.D. arrives and demands the Ducks to hand over the egg, and as they try to escape, Laufey takes it so he could use to restore Jotunheim to its former glory. Loki argues with his father and tries to get him to return the egg, however Zeus then descends on Jotunheim, also claiming the ownership of the egg. Howard and Darcy run away with the egg, being pursued by Olympians, Frost Giants, while Malekith, Zealots, the Black Order, Grandmaster and even Thanos also show up. Grandmaster manages to capture the egg, but Zeus brings his ship down and the egg gets sent down on the ground.

Byrdie the Duck is born
Howard manages to catch the egg in time and flees with Darcy, while Loki saves them from Laufey and gives them a chance to get away. As the hordes of enemies close in on them, Howard and Darcy conclude that there is no way out and huddle together, singing a KISS song to their child. Suddenly, the egg starts glowing and floats in the air, and as Howard and Darcy keep singing, it shoots energy bolts into anyone trying to get closer. As the enemies overwhelm them, scrambling for the egg, it finally hatches and an enormous energy blast takes out everyone around, except Zeus, who retreats. Howard and Darcy finally see their child, a human-duck hybrid, being born, and Fury admits that he was wrong and the child is the safest with them.
Loki talks things out with Laufey and they offer the Ducks a lodge at Jotun Slopes but Darcy turns them down, saying that there is only one thing where their family wants to be. Howard and Darcy return to their home on Earth and put their child to sleep, deciding to call her Byrdie.
