"I got 89P13, and I'm on my way."
―War Pig to Vim[src]

War Pig was a pig biconically reengineered into a Hell Spawn by High Evolutionary, working as an enforcer for the Arête Laboratories. In 2026, she was killed by Adam Warlock during the Battle of Counter-Earth.

Biography[]

The pig was stolen from Earth by High Evolutionary, who planned on turning the pig into the perfect species. However, along the way High Evolutionary changed his plans to make the pig his weaponized servant known as War Pig.

Expecting the Guardians of the Galaxy to find their way to Arête Laboratories on Counter-Earth, War Pig and Behemoth were stationed at the front gates of the facility. The prediction turned out to be correct when Star-Lord, Nebula, and Groot arrived in a car they had borrowed from Till. War Pig scanned Star-Lord head-to-toe for weapons with her cybernetic arm. When she confirmed that Star-Lord was unarmed, the grunts allowed him inside Arête to speak with the High Evolutionary personally. Although Groot was allowed to accompany Star-Lord, discreetly smuggling in his weapons, Nebula was forced to stay behind as her arm was a weapon in itself. While Behemoth escorted Star-Lord and Groot to the High Evolutionary, War Pig stayed behind to keep watch over Nebula.

As the two Hell Spawn made sure Nebula did not try anything, Vim contacted War Pig, telling her to go to the flying ship which belonged to the Guardians and capture Subject 89P13. War Pig complied and used her back jets to fly to the ship.

When War Pig arrived, she found a dying 89P13 on an operating table. War Pig unhooked him from his wires and notified Vim that she had the package. However, she was stopped by Gamora, who was aiming her gun.

As the two prepared to face off, Adam Warlock suddenly arrived, crashing into War Pig. She got up, annoyed at Warlock, telling him that they were on the same team. However, Warlock responded that he needed to take the credit in delivering Rocket to the High Evolutionary in order to save his people before grabbing War Pig's head and decapitating her in in one fell swoop.[1]

Personality[]

This section needs a rewrite

War Pig was a loyal bodyguard who followed the orders of her master and creator blindly. She did not show any form of care and empathy for Rocket when retrieving his comatose body from the Bowie despite knowing the fate that would have awaited him, treating his retrieval like any other job.

War Pig was shown to be at least somewhat personable, especially for a Hell Spawn. She speaks with a relaxed voice and is shown to approach her work without the same malice that Behemoth displayed while attacking Knowhere and its inhabitants. She was content with leaving Gamora incapacitated but alive while retrieving 89P13 from the Bowie, only making an effort to finish Gamora off when she came back going for her throat. Despite her amiable personality, War Pig was still a Hell Spawn with an explosive temper and an extremely short fuse. When she was blindsided by Adam and told that he needed to be the one to bring Rocket to High Evolutionary in order to save his species, she initially appeared sympathetic, only to fly into a sudden rage when he told her to "be a good creepy... thing."

Powers[]

  • Hell Spawn Physiology: War Pig was a biconically enhanced Hog evolved into a Hell Spawn due to OrgoCorp's experimentations. Her enhancements included a cybernetic skeletal structure, and a genetically augmented cerebral cortex.
    • Superhuman Strength: Due to her augmentations, War Pig can lift substantially more heavy items than many species throughout the Galaxy. She was able to knock out Gamora by plowing through her.
    • Superhuman Durability: Because of her augmentations, War Pig can take more attacks from outside sources. Despite this, she was still killed by Adam Warlock, with him using his super strength to rip her head off.
    • Flight: Because of her lower half being cybernetic, War Pig was able to fly off to the Bowie to apprehend Rocket.
    • Self-Sustenance: War Pig is capable of surviving in space without any space suit.
