- "I know how colonizers think. So we're gonna use they own strategy against 'em. We're gonna send vibranium weapons out to our War Dogs. They'll arm oppressed people all over the world so they can finally rise up and kill those in power."
- ―Erik Killmonger[src]
The War Dogs are the central intelligence service of Wakanda, tasked with collecting information across the globe to ensure the safety of the kingdom.
History[]
Mission in America[]
In 1991, a War Dog checked the crash site of the Assassination of Howard and Maria Stark before returning to his station in Oakland and reporting to T'Chaka.[2]
As a War Dog, Prince N'Jobu was stationed in Oakland, California. His brother, King T'Chaka, sent Zuri as well to watch him unbeknownst to the prince. During his service, N'Jobu became convinced that Wakanda's isolationist policies were doing more harm than good and that people of African descent around the world were being oppressed. During this time, he fell in love with an American woman and had a son, N'Jadaka. When his son was older, N'Jobu gave him a War Dogs Tattoo so that his son could see Wakanda someday.
He then decided that the only course of action was to initiate a global revolution. To arm his cause, he secretly revealed his country's existence to black-market arms dealer Ulysses Klaue and helped him infiltrate Wakanda in order to steal a cache of Vibranium resulting in the deaths of several Wakandan citizens.[3]
In 2008, War Dogs were stationed in South Africa and notified King T'Chaka of a hostage situation. T'Chaka then sent Black Panther.[4]
In 2012, a War Dog witnessed Loki's speech in Germany before Captain America, Iron Man, and Black Widow intervened.
A War Dog member infiltrated Pym Technologies and reported back to T'Chaka about the quantum research.[2]
Mission in Nigeria[]
Nakia took War Dog missions across the globe, making contacts and helping people, believing that Wakanda could do more to help the other nations as well. During one of her missions, she was transferred in a truck by Boko Haram members with several other women in Nigeria. She then was rescued by Black Panther and Okoye.[3]
Killmonger's Mission[]
When N'Jadaka acceded to the throne of Wakanda, he ordered delivery of vibranium weapons to the War Dogs around the world to begin an uprising. W'Kabi contacted members of the War Dogs but some of them refused to undertake it. However, the War Dogs in London, New York City and Hong Kong agreed and prepared waiting for orders.[3]
