Tony Stark returned to public life by hosting a charity event at the concert hall. Outside, Obadiah Stane was being interviewed about the actions of Stark Industries when Stark made his appearance, surprising the guests. Stark greeted Stane and went inside the building. At the bar, Stark met Phil Coulson again, which Coulson asked Stark for his debrief for the events of his kidnapping. However, Stark was distracted by Pepper Potts, with Stark agreeing to meet with him. Stark greeted Potts and the two would eventually dance, though it was uncomfortable for the both of them. Outside, the two would try to flirt with each other, eventually leading into a kiss, but they stopped, realizing how weird it was.

Back inside, Stark was approached by Christine Everhart, who confronted him about his company's involvement with selling weapons to the Ten Rings in Gulmira, showing him photos of the events. Concerned, Stark told Everhart that it was not approved, though she told Stark that someone did. Stark then approached Stane regarding the events in Gulmira, though Stane denied the allegations and revealed that he had filed the injunction against Stark.[1]

In an alternate universe, a fundraiser event for firefighter families was held at Walt Disney Concert Hall by Stark Industries. Tony Stark showed up despite not having been invited, surprising Obadiah Stane. Stark entered the concert hall and was approached by Phil Coulson, who said that he had been trying to contact Stark for an official meeting. Stark got distracted by Pepper Potts and assured Coulson that he would handle the meeting, leaving to talk to Potts. The two danced and people watched, making Potts uncomfortable. They went to the veranda and were awkward, but Stark kissed Potts.
Stark then went back inside for drinks, where he was confronted by Christine Everhart. Everhart showed Stark pictures of a destroyed village which had been attacked by the Ten Rings using Stark Industries weapons. Stark, not having approved of the shipments, took Everhart out to talk to the paparazzi. He claimed to have made promises he could not keep, and publicly suggested that everyone pull their money out of his own company. Stane pulled Stark away from the company and scolded him, but Stark simply wanted to focus on his newfound attraction to Potts. Stane continued to scold Stark, revealing that he was the one who got the board of directors at Stark Industries to attempt to push him out of the company. Stane left, and Stark left soon after.[2]
