It's Inspired
"Oh, Phastos, it's inspired!"
The subject of this article is part of an MCU franchise story "inspired" by the canon of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and is thus not considered official canon.

The Virtue Challenge was an annually held event as a means for young Asgardians to prove themselves virtuous.

Background[]

The Virtue Challenge was a scavenger hunt involving three missions. One mission was to retrieve a bone from the Treasureyard of the Wolves, while fairies show the participants their deepest fears.

The second mission involved stealing an egg from a hawk who lives at the top of a tall mountain, and not letting it break throughout the rest of the challenge.

The third mission was to retrieve a singular piece of gold from the old mine, without succumbing to greed and taking multiple.

After retrieving the three items, the participants must return to Asgard. The first to make it to Asgard was declared the winner.[1]

Challenge[]

The Virtue Challenge was held annually in Asgard as a way for young Asgardians to prove themselves virtuous. During their youths, Thor, Loki, Sif, and each member of the Warriors Three underwent the Virtue Challenge.

Enchanted by the Cup of Glory, Haldier the Blacksmith hid the cup in the old Asgardian mine in 1521. Thinking that since this mine was only used during the Virtue Challenge, which wouldn't be happening for some time, Haldier planned on retrieving it at a later date.

However, Loki heard Haldier talk about this plan, so he insulted Haldier to his son, Brunok. Loki then suggested a contest be held. Loki and Thor recruited Lady Sif for their team, while Brunok recruited Siegrold and Hilda. As the two teams competed, the Warriors Three formed their own team and competed for fun.

Once Loki stole the cup, the three teams fought violently for control of it, until Thor nearly killed them by summoning lightning with Mjølnir. They then decided to end the challenge and return it to Asgard.[1]
