Vim was a recorder for the High Evolutionary who aided in the latter's quest to create a perfect society through various genetic experiments. However, after realizing the High Evolutionary's obsession with retrieving Rocket, she attempted to start a mutiny against him with other like-minded individuals, only to be murdered for her efforts.
Biography[]
Working for High Evolutionary[]
Illegal Experimentation[]
Vim became a Recorder for the High Evolutionary at an unknown date and worked at Arête Laboratories, assisting him in the creation of the Halfworlders, including Rocket and the rest of Batch 89, through violent cybernetic augmentations and various other inhumane methods, to create a perfect society.[1]
Meeting the Sovereign[]
She continued to serve the High Evolutionary aboard the Arête, where her master attempted to retrieve 89P13 after knowing he was still alive, but the plans were inadvertently thwarted by Adam Warlock. Ayesha and Adam arrived on the Arête to meet the High Evolutionary and when he asked if they had succeeded in retrieving the subject, Vim told him they had failed. Vim then watched as the High Evolutionary tortured Adam and warned Ayesha to succeed, or their race will be destroyed by their creator.[1]

Enacting a Mutiny[]
- "Controller, I am taking command of the Arête. Disengage all damaged sectors of the ship, and retreat."
- ―Vim to Controller[src]
However, the High Evolutionary's obsession with reclaiming Rocket began to consume him, leading to an increasingly rash and unstable series of decisions, including releasing the Hell Spawn and giving up the Guardians as their only bargaining chip. As the ship continued to suffer catastrophic damage, she made one final attempt to try and stop her superior, warning that his obsession had gone too far, only to fail once again. Realizing he had completely descended into madness, she raised her blaster towards him, an action supported by his guards as they all raised their blasters towards their former master. Declaring her command of the ship, she ordered the Controller, to disengage all damaged sectors of the ship and retreat. Before she could fully take command of the ship, she and all other guards were obliterated by a blast of energy unleashed by a deranged High Evolutionary.[1]
Personality[]
- "Sire, you have an irrational obsession with this animal! You must stop for God's sake!"
"There is no god! That's why I stepped in." - ―Vim and the High Evolutionary[src]
Vim was immensely loyal to her Master, the High Evolutionary's mission initially, supporting his plans to genetically engineer the ultimate perfect species through cybernetic enhancements and other inhumane methods. She had no doubts to ruthlessly kill off the imperfect ones and followed the High Evolutionary's orders.
However, as the High Evolutionary's obsession with Rocket Raccoon grew uncontrollably, leading the High Evolutionary to neglect the higher mission and become fixated on the former subject, Vim still retained a rational mind and tried many times to advise and warn against the obsession, but failed. Eventually, for her and other crewmates' own safety, Vim launched a coup d'état only to be quickly eliminated by her former master by a blast of energy.
