"What if you were sipping margaritas on a sun-drenched beach turning brown instead of green, not looking over your shoulder for Veronica?"
Tony Stark to Bruce Banner[src]

Veronica was a mobile service module deployed from a Stark Industries Satellite. It was designed by Tony Stark and Bruce Banner to respond to a Hulk rampage. It was stocked with automatic assembled parts of the Iron Man Armor: Mark XLIV for real time customization of the Hulkbuster armor and versatile combat capability, as well as walls of a self assembled electrified cage whose sum form a containment prison.

Bruce Banner and Tony Stark[src]

Tony Stark and Bruce Banner developed Veronica to deploy the Iron Man Armor: Mark XLIV armor, dubbed as the Hulkbuster, as a worst-case measure for Iron Man to deal with a Hulk incident.[1]

"I'm calling in Veronica."
Iron Man[src]

With Hulk hypnotized by Wanda Maximoff to go on a rampage in the streets of Johannesburg, Tony Stark deployed Veronica to Hulk's location to help subdue Hulk. Veronica trapped Hulk in its self-assembling electrified cage, while Stark donned the Hulkbuster armor.

Hulk broke from his cage and did battle with Stark, with Veronica hovering close by to provide Stark support. Veronica continued to provide real time repair and customization of Stark's Hulkbuster armor by sending flying assembling parts to arm Stark's armor. Eventually, Veronica crash-landed when Hulk struck one of the flying parts it deployed back to Veronica, thus suffering heavy damage from the collision.[1]

Trivia[]

  • Veronica's name is a reference to a character from the Archie Comics named Veronica Lodge who is the rival of Betty Cooper, a character who shares her name with Betty Ross, the former love interest of Bruce Banner. Director Joss Whedon said: "I just decided to call it Veronica because [Banner] used to be in love with a girl named Betty and Veronica is the opposite of that." [3]
