Several months earlier, Rodriguez is escorted into a room by Agent Anderson, who informs her that Mace is in a meeting and that she will have to wait. As soon as Anderson leaves, Rodriguez attempts to use a computer only to be denied access.

Phil Coulson then enters with his personal belongings, prompting the two to discuss the numerous changes that have been made following Mace's appointment as director. Coulson advises Rodriguez to give Mace a chance before gifting her with a pin that belonged to Peggy Carter so she can remember that she is part of a team.

As Coulson prepares to depart for the Zephyr One, the two express hope that he will find Johnson. Rodriguez then faces the computer terminal, contemplating her actions.
