Captain Vassant is a United States Air Force officer who was kidnapped by LAF before being rescued by Falcon.

Biography[]

Kidnapping and Rescue[]

Captain Vassant served as a liaison for the United States Air Force. In 2024, while flying a military plane near the border between Libya and Tunisia, Vassant and his crew were attacked by the terrorist group LAF, who planned to fly the plane into Libyan airspace, where the U.S. Air Force would be unable to legally follow them.

Despite LAF murdering his fellow soldiers, Vassant was initially kept alive as a hostage. However, once LAF believed they had successfully avoided being followed, Vassant was taken to the back of the plane, where the mercenaries began to beat him. They were soon joined by Georges Batroc, who prepared to execute the captain. Before he could, the plane was boarded by Falcon, who had come to Vassant's rescue. While Falcon engaged with Batroc, another LAF member strapped Vassant to their Wingsuit and jumped from the plane with him, flying and boarding a nearby helicopter.

This helicopter would soon be compromised by Falcon as well, causing Batroc to personally attach himself to Vassant as they flew to yet another helicopter. As they approached Libya, Batroc gloated to Vassant how once they crossed the border, he would be unable to be rescued. Soon after though, Falcon flew directly through the opening in Batroc's helicopter, dragging Vassant out of the vehicle moments before it was destroyed by LAF missiles. Falcon then safely delivered Vassant to First Lieutenant Joaquín Torres, who was waiting on the ground.[1]
