- "What happened here."
"The Conqueror burned our homes, our stories. He built his citadel on the bones of our people. Some of us escaped, found others on the run, and gathered who we could to fight. It's never enough." - ―Cassie Lang and Jentorra[src]
Kang the Conqueror was exiled into the Quantum Realm, and he recover part of his power having tricked Janet van Dyne into helping him. Though van Dyne prevented him to escape by abnormaly enlarging his Multiversal Engine Core, Kang used his vast technology and knowledge to create an empire and amass a large army, with Axia serving as his seat of power. This displaced many native inhabitants of the Quantum Realm, with some attempting to form rebellions against him. However, he managed to swat them all of them down.[1]
Uprising[]
As Kang the Conqueror was nearing his escape from the Quantum Realm, Stature, with the help of Jentorra, hijacked his broadcast to get a message out to the civilians to encourage them to fight back against the Conqueror's rule. Stature and Jentorra then released the Freedom Fighters from their cells, but were attacked by M.O.D.O.K.
As Stature was chased by M.O.D.O.K., Ant-Man, in giant form, and Wasp arrived in Axia, and called out Kang, who sent out a fleet of aircrafts to attack them. Ant-Man and Wasp destroyed some of the ships, but were greatly outnumbered. Stature's speech proved to be successful, and the civilians of the Quantum Realm joined the fight, saving Ant-Man and Wasp. The Freedom Fighters dealt with Kang's ground and sky forces, while Ant-Man and Wasp headed for the tower to stop Kang, who had begun his escape.
M.O.D.O.K. continued to chase down Stature, until she grew to giant form and defeated him, leaving him with the suggestion to no longer be a villain. The combined efforts of Ant-Man and Wasp resulted in Kang's escape being stopped, so the Conqueror exited his tower and those rebelling against him. Ant-Man, Wasp, and Stature confronted Kang in a brief fight where the heroes found themselves overwhelmed. Kang began to rant about his power but at that moment, Hank Pym arrived with an army of ants, which defeated Kang, with the assistance of M.O.D.O.K., who had a change of heart.
Janet van Dyne, who was in the tower, managed to open a portal out of the Quantum Realm, so the family all went through. But before Ant-Man and Stature escaped, Kang returned, so Ant-Man pushed his daughter through the portal to safety. Ant-Man then fought against a furious Kang, and was badly beaten. Kang headed for the portal, but Wasp came back through it and attacked Kang. Working together, Ant-Man and Wasp knocked Kang into the Multiversal Engine Core, killing him. Ant-Man and Wasp looked upon Axia, as the civilians celebrated over their victory against Kang's empire.[1]
Aftermath[]
TVA Investigation[]
- "I got those reports on the Variants of He Who Remains."
"Do any of them know that we exist yet?"
"Nope. I guess one of them caused a little bit of a ruckus on 616 adjacent realm, but they handled it." - ―Mobius M. Mobius and Hunter B-15[src]
The Time Variance Authority investigated Kang's conquest of the Quantum Realm, but they did not intervene since he was successfully defeated.[2]
Council of Kangs Reaction[]
- "None of us killed him. They did. They're beginning to touch the Multiverse. And if we let them... they will take everything we've built. So let's stop wasting time."
- ―Immortus to the Council of Kangs[src]
With Kang the Conqueror gone, the people of the Quantum Realm were able to live in peace and freedom again. Scott Lang and Hope van Dyne made it out of the Quantum Realm and back with the rest of their family, although Lang wondered if they had truly beaten Kang, or if something worse was to come. The Council of Kangs gathered to discuss the Conqueror's death, and the fact that more people interacting with the Multiverse could potentially lead to the destruction of their dynasty.[1]
