The subject of this article is part of an MCU franchise story that has been officially deemed to be non-canonical to the primary continuity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Its events instead occur in another reality within the Multiverse. This universe is designated by the Marvel Cinematic Universe Wiki as "Enclave Attacks".

The United States Armed Forces are the military forces of the United States of America. They consist of the United States Army.

History[]

Project Gamma Pulse[]

As part of their engineering department, Bruce Banner and Betty Ross worked on a biological way to improve soldiers instead of weapons under the supervision of Glenn Talbot. However, the experiment went wrong and turned Banner into the monstrous Hulk, causing Banner to go on the run from the army, who began a manhunt for him. As part of the manhunt, Thaddeus Ross confiscated all of the information regarding the project.[1]

Hunting Bruce Banner[]

Bruce Banner went on the run to prevent the United States Army from getting to the Hulk, prompting the army to begin a manhunt for him. Emil Blonsky managed to find Banner in Porto Verde and attack him there. The Army chased Banner into a building and blew it up, but Banner transformed into the Hulk and defeated the soldiers, leaving them behind as he fled. Thaddeus Ross then arrived and revealed to Blonsky that Banner and Hulk were the same person and that he believed their body to be the property of the Army.

They tracked the Hulk to New York City, where they attacked him. Hulk managed to fight the soldiers off and left to destroy an Enclave building. The destruction of the building brought the Hulk's location to the Army's attention, so the Army sent several soldiers in Humvees to take him down. Hulk fought through the soldiers, but when Rick Jones realized how many there were, Hulk took the subway to escape them. As Banner fought the Enclave, he caused a significant amount of destruction, allowing the Army to find and attack him, but Hulk consistently defeated their forces.[1]

Stolen Data[]

Hulk attacked an Army base in New York City in order to steal information about himself. The Army sent in heavily armored cars to defend the base, but Hulk successfully destroyed the base and stole the data. The Army retaliated by interfering with Samuel Sterns' machines and prevent Sterns from getting data from Bruce Banner's blood, so Hulk went to multiple bases and destroyed them until he found the signal jammer and threw it into the lake at Central Park. The Enclave then showed up and killed several members of the army, stealing a drum of Nanites.

They went looking for the drum, and found the Hulk looking for it as well. They started shooting at him as he searched garbage trucks, but Hulk defeated their forces and found the drum first.[1]

Glenn Talbot's Arrival[]

Glenn Talbot arrived in New York City and started commanding the manhunt, insisting that they use lethal force. This led to a sonic attack on the Hulk before soldiers arrived to fight him, which Talbot insisted they go forward with even after a soldier informed him that there were a lot of civilians in the area. Hulk defeated the soldiers and destroyed the sonic transmitter, prompting Talbot to order his soldiers to fall back and claim that Hulk was responsible for the damage. Talbot ordered a missile strike, which Hulk avoided by destroying the satellite dish, radio tower, and targeting computer controlling the missiles. Emil Blonsky attempted to defend the base with the computer, but Hulk easily defeated him despite his armor.[1]

Public Relations Nightmare[]

Rick Jones discovered that Glenn Talbot was behind the recent military attacks on Hulk, so he advised Hulk to attract the attention of multiple news helicopters and bring them to an army barracks. Talbot, believing the helicopters to be the enemy, ordered a missile to get fired at them. Hulk then destroyed the missile launchers and left, defeating the recon troops sent after him. Talbot went into hiding while Hulk followed the transport helicopter and fought off Talbot's defense team. Hulk destroyed the base Talbot hid in, forcing him to fall back further. In retaliation, Talbot had Jones kidnapped. However, Hulk managed to rescue him and get him to a safe space once Jones destroyed the tracking device the military put on him.

The Hulk later attacked the military again to recover the Particle Infusion Array which the Army had stolen from Samuel Sterns.[1]

Fighting the Enclave[]

The military learned about the Enclave's activities in New York City and planned to arrest them, prompting the Enclave to fire their Siege Turrets at the Army. Hulk fought off both forces and destroyed the turrets.[1]

Battle at Culver University[]

Thaddeus Ross ordered Emil Blonsky to follow Bruce Banner to Culver University and be ready to kill Banner once he was out of range of Ross' daughter, Betty. However, Banner spotted Blonsky, so the army surrounded him despite Betty's attempts to stop them. The soldiers restrained Betty, which angered Banner and triggered his transformation into the Hulk. Hulk then destroyed the bases which the Army set up around the university, despite Army resistance. Hulk went to check on Betty, but Blonsky then attacked him using tanks and his enhanced abilities. However, Hulk still managed to defeat Blonsky, so the Army sent helicopters to attack him, which Hulk destroyed as well. One helicopter nearly killed Betty, but Hulk saved her and left while Thaddeus watched. Thaddeus received news that Blonsky was alive, so he rushed to check on the super soldier.[1]

Protected by Hulk[]

"I guess the enemy of my enemy is the lesser of two evils."
―Bruce Banner to Rick Jones[src]

Thaddeus Ross led an attacking on the Enclave, which Betty Ross found out about. She called Bruce Banner and asked him to protect Thaddeus, and he agreed. However, as Hulk approached the military, Ross declared Hulk to be a target of opportunity and ordered his soldiers to take him down. Hulk fought both groups and reached the Paragon Corporation building which the Enclave were targeting. When Ross realized that the Hulk beat them to it, he realized that they needed the Hulk's help. The Enclave took out three of Ross' units.

The Enclave targeted the Army's Hulkbusters and froze their armor's technology, trapping them in the suit. The Enclave attempted to kidnap the suit's users, but Hulk arrived and fought the soldiers off, worried about what the Enclave would do with them. Hulk fled as the Army arrived to help the Hulkbusters, who wondered if Thaddeus Ross was wrong about Hulk. One of the Hulkbusters asked Hulk for help destroying an F-POD, which Hulk provided. The soldier thanked Hulk and told him to flee, promising to mention Hulk's help in the report.

Meanwhile, Ross approached Emil Blonsky, who had completely recovered from his injuries sustained at Culver University due to the serum he had been given. Ross agreed that it was a miracle and authorized Blonsky to receive the full treatment.[1]

Glenn Talbot's Vendetta[]

Thaddeus Ross ordered an experimental weapon to be moved across New York City, not trusting Glenn Talbot to move it himself. Hulk prepared to steal the weapon, but Talbot's soldiers appeared and stole it first. Hulk managed to recover the cannon and brought it to Rick Jones, who destroyed it.

Talbot kidnapped Betty Ross and used her as bait for the Hulk, who went to save her. The Army then attacked the Hulk, who fought through them and used the Hulkbuster's armor to destroy the generators powering Betty's electrical cage. This allowed Betty the chance to reveal herself to be Thaddeus' daughter. The Hulkbuster soldier then freed Betty and left to report to Thaddeus. Thaddeus led an attack on Talbot, who donned an armor of his own and attacked. The Army started firing at Talbot until Hulk appeared and fought him. The two dueled until Talbot grabbed Hulk and set the detonation sequence, but Hulk threw Talbot's armor into the air to prevent the explosion from hurting anyone.[1]

Bio-Weapon Attack[]

The Enclave deployed a bio-weapon on a building, which the Army responded to by setting up a perimeter and attempting to keep civilians away. Hulk fought the Army while Samuel Sterns entered the building and decontaminated the building. Sterns ejected himself from the building once it was done, and Hulk took Sterns away from the Army.[1]

Hulk's Cure[]

The Army watched Empire State University while Bruce Banner, Samuel Sterns, and Betty Ross prepared to cure Banner of the Hulk. A soldier reported that he did not have a clean shot, so Emil Blonsky asked to be allowed to go in. Thaddeus Ross refused Blonsky, who disobeyed Ross' order and approached the university anyway.

Thaddeus led several soldiers into Sterns' lab and had Banner shot with a tranquilizer dart, allowing the soldiers to take Banner and Betty to their helicopter. Thaddeus told Sterns that he expected the scientist to cooperate and welcomed him to the Army before leaving. Just then, Blonsky broke into the lab and held Sterns at gunpoint, demanding to be turned into the same thing as Banner.

Betty started to yell at Thaddeus for taking them, when their helicopter suddenly shook as a soldier reported that the Hulk was in the streets. Banner and Thaddeus saw that it was Blonsky, who had turned into a monstrous Abomination, destroying the streets. Banner realized that Hulk was the only person who could stop Abomination, so he jumped out of the helicopter to fight him. Abomination threw a taxi at the military's helicopter, causing it to crash. Betty and Thaddeus escaped the helicopter, and Hulk put out the fire before it exploded. Hulk fought and defeated Abomination before leaving the area.[1]
