History[]

Discovering Iron Man[]

The United States Air Force discovered an unidentified object attacking Maggia weapons caches. As the object left, the Air Force mobilized Scott Campbell and Whiplash 1 to attack the object. The object, Tony Stark, refused to fight the Air Force hacked into the Air Force's secure lines and listened as he entered evasive maneuvers. However, Stark accidentally crashed into one of the Air Force's F-22 Raptors, forcing Whiplash 1 to eject. Stark saved the pilot and convinced James Rhodes to call off the attack. Rhodes then began working with Stark to keep him away from the military.[1]

Robbery of the Russian Nuclear Facility[]

A.I.M. attacked a Russian nuclear facility, and the Air Force became aware of it. However, they were unable to send troops in due to the high levels of radiation at the facility. James Rhodes decided to ask Tony Stark for help, and he thwarted the robbery.[1]

Hijacking and Retaking of the Air Force Ship[]

The Air Force used a ship which was sold by Stark Industries. The ship was attacked by A.I.M., who managed to successfully take it over and store the soldiers in the secondary cargo bay, threatening them with drones. Tony Stark attacked the ship and fought through A.I.M.'s forces, defeating the soldiers and accessing the cargo bay. Stark destroyed the drones and freed the soldiers, who Rhodes ordered to lay low while Stark finished with A.I.M. The soldiers opened the main cargo bay door for Stark, who successfully prevented them from stealing the ship's power source.[1]

Evacuating Los Angeles[]

James Rhodes heard that Pepper Potts was in Stark Industries Headquarters and knew that Tony Stark would be attacking Stane, so he had the Air Force evacuate Los Angeles to prevent collateral damage.[1]
