Bloodstone battling a Sasquatch

Ulysses Bloodstone owned the Bloodstone, which helped him fight against many monsters throughout his career as a monster hunter, including a Sasquatch he encountered in British Columbia, who was defeated using energy blasts from the Bloodstone. He was also married to his first wife, Elise Bloodstone, and she gave birth to Elsa Bloodstone. However, his monster practices not liked by his wife and daughter, with Ulysses even being very disappointed in Elsa when he knew what she thought. Eventually, Elsa left the family and became estranged with him, and due to unknown reasons, Ulysses married his second wife, Verussa.[1]

Legacy[]

Ulysses Bloodstone passed away eventually and decided to pass the Bloodstone on to whoever that can hunt down Man-Thing, a monstrous being that he had captured and locked in the Manor. Under his orders, his corpse was briefly reanimated so that he could pass his last will to the fellow monster hunters who participated in the hunt. His corpse was later destroyed when Man-Thing flung the remains of his wife at it, leaving only his head intact. Eventually, after the skirmish in Bloodstone Manor, his estranged daughter Elsa Bloodstone claimed the Bloodstone, taking on her family and her father's legacy.[1]

Personality[]

Ulysses Bloodstone was a man who is strongly and fiercely attached to the monster hunting practices, so unwilling to detach from these practices that his own daughter left him. He was also quite harsh towards his daughter as he would subject her to harsh training so as to prepare her for her life as a monster hunter, with little regard for her wishes. When Elsa expressed her views toward monster hunting, Ulysses was very disappointed in her and viewed her as his shame, showing that he held little empathy towards his daughter.

However, Ulysses Bloodstone was widely respected by fellow monster hunters, as many monster hunters attended the monster hunt after his death to honour his memory, though this act may just simply be out of lust for power and the Bloodstone.
