Tina Minoru is a Master of the Mystic Arts. She was the Master of the Hong Kong Sanctum during the Summoning of Dormammu.
Biography[]
Retrieving the Dark Scepter[]

Tina Minoru and Daniel Drumm, two Masters of the Mystic Arts arrived at the Kamar-Taj to assist Wong and Kaecilius track down the Witch who had stolen the Dark Scepter. Minoru, Drumm, and Wong later arrived to find an unconscious Kaecilius who had been beaten by the thief and had underestimated the Staffs power.
Later at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, the group confronted the thief and after a grueling battle with their combined efforts, they were able to overpower her and claim the Scepter.[1]
Summoning of Dormammu[]
Reunion with the Ancient One[]
As the Master of the Hong Kong Sanctum, Minoru had a meeting with the Ancient One, Daniel Drumm and Sol Rama in Kamar-Taj. The Ancient One stopped the meeting as Karl Mordo wished to talk with her.[2]
Training the Sorcerers[]
Some time later, Minoru, as well as Masters Daniel Drumm and Sol Rama were present during an exercise which involved novice and intermediate sorcerers at Kamar-Taj, who wished to expand their skills in the martial arts and casting magical spells. She assisted many students in perfecting their skills and continued to assist other fellow Masters at Kamar-Taj including the Ancient One, Wong, Hamir, and Karl Mordo in recruiting an training new additions to become sorcerers of the Masters of the Mystic Arts.[2]
Battle at the Hong Kong Sanctum[]
At the Hong Kong Sanctum, Minoru and others Masters of the Mystic Arts were ordered by Wong to prepare for battle against Kaecilius and the Zealots. Minoru used the Staff of One for the battle. Despite their best efforts, the Masters were defeated and the Sanctum was destroyed, leaving the Earth vulnerable to Dormammu. However, Doctor Strange activated the Eye of Agamotto, causing the time to reverse and stopping the death of many Masters at the Hong Kong Sanctum, including Minoru.[2]

- Magic: As the master of the Hong Kong Sanctum, Minoru is a powerful member of the Master of the Mystic Arts, which helps her defend her reality. With the help of numerous mystical artifacts and relics, in addition to her astral powers, Minoru is able to gain access to a multitude of mystical powers.
- Eldritch Magic: Minoru is very proficient in using Eldritch Magic which allowed her to become the Master of the Hong Kong Sanctum.
- Spell Casting: One of the abilities that she gained from Eldritch Magic was the ability to cast spells.
- Portal Creation: When and only when using a Sling Ring, Minoru could open portals.
- Dimensional Travel: Minoru could open a Inter-Dimensional Portal to go anywhere she wanted.
- Eldritch Magic: Minoru is very proficient in using Eldritch Magic which allowed her to become the Master of the Hong Kong Sanctum.

- Staff Mastery: Minoru's primary choice of weapon was the Staff of One which she immediately grabbed when the Hong Kong Sanctum was being attacked by Kaecilius and his Zealots.

- In the comics, Tina Minoru was an evil sorceress and a member of PRIDE.
- Another character based on Tina Minoru, in a role closer of that of the comics, appeared in Runaways.
Behind the Scenes[]
- This character is named in the credits of Doctor Strange, as well as in Doctor Strange Prelude, The Art of Doctor Strange and Guidebook to the Marvel Cinematic Universe - Doctor Strange.
- Kevin Feige indicated that the use of the name "Tina Minoru" for this character was an Easter egg due to Marvel Studios having previously developed a Runaways film (written by Drew Pearce) for a long time before it was cancelled. He noted that they never said the name "Minoru" in the movie adding that "if it is in the art of book, is the only place you'd ever see that name."[3]
