The Time Variance Authority Official Handbook, commonly referred to as the TVA Guidebook, is the official guide to all the technology of the Time Variance Authority provided to all employees.
History[]
First Edition[]
Desk of Employees[]
The Time Variance Authority Official Handbook was written by the head of the Repairs and Advancement division, Ouroboros. A copy was placed on the desk of every employee of the Time Variance Authority. Ouroboros included the inner workings of all TVA technology and devices in the handbook, including instructions regarding the Temporal Loom.[1]
Carried by Casey[]
As the Sacred Timeline was allowed to branch, Casey carried a copy of the TVA Guidebook with him.[1]
Given to Loki[]
Ouroboros realized that the Temporal Loom was being overloaded by the branches of the Multiverse, but Loki did not know what the Temporal Loom was. Ouroboros gave Loki a copy of the TVA Official Handbook and explained that he had written it.[1]
Creating a Visionary[]
Going through with He Who Remains' plans, Ravonna Renslayer would travel to Chicago, Illinois during the 1860s and drop off a Handbook in order to create a Variant that could take He Who Remains' place. In turn, this would create a new branching timeline. Using the handbook, Victor Timely would create several prototypes technologies that often malfunctioned. Timely would later construct a prototype version of the Temporal Loom, which he would showcase at the World's Columbian Exposition.
After escaping with Renslayer and Miss Minutes, Timely learned more about the TVA and his inevitable path to maintaining the Multiverse once again. Wondering about who gave him the handbook, Timely discovered that Renslayer was the one who gave it to him and thanked her for shaping him into the scientist he became.[2]
