Biography

Early Life

"What happened to you? We had the same parents, same teachers, same liquor cabinet. Your brothers toughened up, joined the cause."
"Yeah, that worked out great for Eric."
LT Koenig and Thurston Koenig[src]
In his childhood, Thurston, along with his quadruplet brothers Eric, Sam and Billy, was picked on by his elder sister, LT Koenig.

Unlike his other siblings, Thurston refused to join S.H.I.E.L.D., being very critical to the organization instead, especially after his brother Eric died at the hands of HYDRA mole Grant Ward.[1]

The Soul Patch

"No! You can't be in here! This is a Peace Palace. Hey, hey, hey. Ho, ho. S.H.I.E.L.D. stormtroopers have got to go."
―Thurston Koenig to Phil Coulson[src]

While performing his usual one-man show at The Soul Patch, Thurston was interrupted by the arrival of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents Daisy Johnson and Davis, who had been sent to pick agent LT Koenig. Indeed, the Koenigs were in danger after an assault on Billy and Sam Koenig, so S.H.I.E.L.D. decided to take the other siblings under their protection. Thurston refused, unwilling to have anything to do with the organization he despised, but his sister used her I.C.E.R. on him and he was brought aboard the Zephyr One.

Having woken up, Thurston complained about being forcefully dragged on the plane, but LT quickly chastised him for his behavior and they eventually reconciled. Thurston remained on the plane while the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents went to the Labyrinth in order to retrieve the Darkhold. When Billy finally returned after being kidnapped by the Watchdogs, Thurston greeted him with compassion. After that, Thurston left the plane and returned to his normal life.[1]
