Through Many Miles / Of Tricks and Trials is the third episode of the first season of Agatha All Along.
Synopsis[]
The coven faces their first perilous trial on the Witches' Road.
Plot[]
Agatha Harkness' Coven sees the mansion
Making their way down the Witches' Road, the group stays behind Agatha Harkness as they are not trusting of her. As they argue, Sharon Davis roams off and finds herself stuck in sinking mud. The group help her out as they realize the true danger of the road. They then turn around to find a bright light which opens up to the Witches' Road Beach House. They approach the mansion with caution.
The first challenge
The coven enter the mansion and find that their attire had changed. Despite the unease, Davis is joyed to find a nice kitchen. Meanwhile, Jennifer Kale talks to Teen, telling him not to trust Harkness. She then tells the story of how Harkness sold her own son for the Darkhold, which he does not want to believe. Now beginning the first trial, the group decide to drink the wine that is on the table.
Alewife's Revenge symptoms start
With a toast, all but the underage Teen drink. Within no time, Davis' face starts swelling up. Following suit, all of the other drinkers swell up too. Soon, the swelling stops, which makes Kale even more worried as she recognizes the symptoms and finds it is Alewife's Revenge. This means the first trial is that the potions witch, Kale, must create the antidote. The group then realize that the timer started running and Harkness' face was never swollen, meaning she never drank the wine. Teen then makes Harkness drink it so they can start the trial.
A manifestation of Lorna Wu
Kale lists off what she needs for her antidote as Davis succumbs to more of the poison, passing out. On the hunt, the group starts to experience hallucinations. Kale sees the Doctor who used to torture her. Alice Wu-Gulliver sees her very own mother and Lilia Calderu witnesses her maestra. Despite this, all of the ingredients are found. However, they soon realize that the mansion is now underwater, and water is pouring in through a crack in the window. The coven realize time is of the essence as the window may shatter.
Agatha Harkness' hallucination
Kale gets everyone to enact the ritual which involved taking pieces of their hair. Right before Harkness gets her hair, the hallucinations start kicking in. Harkness looks around only to find a baby crib. A heartbroken Harkness looks into it and sees the Darkhold inside, making her lunge back. When the hallucination broke, she regains her bearings and gives a strand of her hair. The oven then opens, allowing them to leave once they drink the poison. Now completing the trial, the group realizes that Davis is dead.
