Thor Odinson is a variant of Thor who was turned into a frog.

Biography[]

Reset[]

Thor was turned into a frog, and was designated as Variant T365 by the Time Variance Authority. He was then reset while encased in a glass bottle and ended up in the Void, where his container ended up underground near the Loki Palace. Nearby his container was Mjølnir, which he struggled to reach as he desperately tried to break out of his prison.[2]

Equipment[]

Weapons[]

  • Mjølnir: Throg owned a version of Mjølnir. However, after being caught by the TVA, he lost his hammer.

Other Equipment[]

  • Asgardian Armor: Throg's set of armor has a collared black vest with silver overlay and a bright red cape that connected at the shoulders of his vest. In addition, he wears silver bracelets on each limb.
  • Winged Helmet: Throg possessed a silver Asgardian war helm adorned with wings on its sides.

Trivia[]

  • In the comics, Throg was a man named Simon Walterson who was transformed into a frog by a witch. Taking up the name Puddlegulp, Walterson would go on to help Thor when Loki turned him into a frog and stranded him in Central Park. Sometime later he would pick up a sliver of Mjølnir and become the mighty Throg, defending Central Park's frogs from the park's rats. He would also be recruited into Lockjaw's Pet Avengers.
  • Throg's variant code T365 is a reference to Thor #365 (1986), where Thor, who was transformed by Loki as a frog, lifted Mjølnir and turned into Frog Thor.

Behind the Scenes[]

  • In a deleted scene from Glorious Purpose, Loki was shown getting pummeled by Throg in the footage shown through the TVA Holoprojector. The scene had to be cut, but it was very funny according to Eric Martin.[3]
    • Eric Martin refers to Throg as the "Frog of Thunder" and "Frog Thor".
