So how did everybody feel about Daisy/Quake severing all ties with S.H.I.E.L.D. over her guilt for Lincoln's death? Well, at least she tried, but ultimately Coulson, May and the others wouldn't give up on her despite her desire to keep all ties severed. And she wasn't able to make them hate her like Angel (from Season 2 of the titular spinoff of Buffy the Vampire Slayer) succeeded in making his team hate him and leave him alone when he fired them (since he was in charge of Angel Investigations and Daisy wasn't in charge of S.H.I.E.L.D.), thus keeping ties severed. But it wasn't until 3 episodes after the firing that audiences learn that he was trying to keep them away from the knight templar path he was going on due to them not being able to handle it and it would've been worse for them, especially if he had forced them to help him destroy Wolfram & Hart against their will, which he was capable of doing but he'd end their friendship permanently and make sure they never know the truth, so they'd stick to helping the helpless and not get killed by Wolfram & Hart. Nonetheless, he really did get darker give up on helping the helpless to destroy Wolfram & Hart and do terrible things in order to so. But normally, a full knight templar should have no problem doing worse than cutting off all ties, like instead getting them killed by Wolfram & Hart if they went after him trying to stop him or if he had forced them to help destroy W&H (like what Walter White would do to Jesse Pinkman in Breaking Bad). And he believed he would fully die and take W&H down with him, so his team wouldn't mourn due to all the horrible things he was doing, but W&H were really trying to bring him to total despair once an undead Holland Manners revealed their home office was Earth, not actual hell, allowing them to bring the apocalypse with Angel unable to stop them and becoming Angelus again. But instead, before he could lose his soul sleeping with Darla, he gained his epiphany. Of course, when he returned to his team and rescued them and finally explained the real reason he fired them and cut off all ties, they were still openly hostile, especially Cordelia, even after learning that Angel was manipulating her into believing he'd kill her or the others for a book from the Hyperion Hotel library he needed, in order to scare them into giving the book and making sure all ties stay severed, without them knowing he had no desire to kill them. And he still did horrible things in order to destroy W&H and abandon helping the helpess even if he wanted to keep them from worse conquences, which unfortunately didn't prevent Wesley from ending up in the hospital. Even at first when he rejoined as a subordinate to all of them, they were still hostile in the beginning. Cordelia still didn't want to be friends anymore even if he previously wanted that as an excuse to avoid the path he was taking, and still considered what Angel did a betrayal even though he wanted them to believe that in order to keep ties severed and keep them away from the knight templar territory.
So for any Buffyverse fans who saw Angel season 2, does anybody consider Daisy's storyline of going rogue and unsuccessfully severing ties with her S.H.I.E.L.D. family an inferior version of Angel's storyline of going darker and abandoning with he stood for (even though firing them was for a bit different reason as revealed 3 episodes later)? I mean, what Daisy was doing wasn't anywhere near as horrible as what Angel did going after Wolfram & Hart. But do people prefer mid-season 2 Angel over Daisy in the Ghost Rider pod of AoS season 4?
