And the relevant information in case you don't want to click the link:
Lee has taken part in each of Marvel’s films since Iron Man debuted back in 2008, and fans have come to wonder whether the man may actually be playing the same character in each films. The fan-theory began to catch fire in recent years, but no word was ever given to validate it. That is, until now.
Recently, the head of Marvel Studios was asked about the fan-theory regarding Lee and his MCU cameos. Kevin Feige was asked if the icon’s parts in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2were meant to confirm the theory’s truth, and the producer said yes.
“Yes, we always thought it would be fun. Stan Lee clearly exists, you know, above and apart from the reality of all the films. So the notion that he could be sitting there on a cosmic pit stop during the jump gate sequence in Guardians was something very fun – James had that idea and we shot that cameo and loved it so much, you know, you see it a couple of times in the movie.”
“It wasn’t in for a long time and we put it back in towards the end of the process where he references that time he was a Federal Express agent – we thought it would be fun to put that in there because that really says, so wait a minute, he’s this same character who’s popped up in all these films.”
In the Guardians sequel, fans are let in on the fact that Lee has been playing the same character throughout all the MCU films.
So now we know that Stan Lee has been playing the same character since 2008 and as far as I know, the character Stan Lee plays has only ever been given one name: Irving Forbush. He was mistaken for Hugh Hefner and dressed like Larry King, but has only ever been named Irving in the Defenders "cameo" posters.
So unless anyone has any objections, I'll go ahead and start expanding Irving's page.
