The Unicorn Unleashed! is the fifth episode of the first season of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.
Synopsis[]
Peter makes a new friend. Meanwhile, Lonnie finds himself in the sights of a dangerous gang.
Plot[]
Mila Masaryk meets with Otto Octavius from whom she and her accomplices were supposed to buy special enhanced equipment. Octavius notices that Masaryk came alone and she suggests to purchase one piece of equipment instead of four so she could get her allies out of prison. With Masaryk providing the money they agreed on, Octavius shows her his laboratory, mentioning his plans to use the money to get proper accommodations. Octavius provides Masaryk with a helmet he designed, before airing out his grievances to Vincent Patilio, frustrated at his genius being underappreciated, comparing to the likes of Norman Osborn, Tony Stark and Bruce Banner.
Peter Parker and Harry Osborn sit together at Oscorp Tower, sharing an awkward moment as the latter now knows Parker's secret. Osborn joins the two and suggests that Harry could join their team and provide assistance to Spider-Man when Osborn is preoccupied with other business. Harry is excited to be Spider-Man's "dude at the desk", although Parker is hesitant on accepting him into the team so easily. Osborn excuses himself to attend an investor meeting and assures Parker that it was the best course of action for all of them. Parker then heads over to Rockford T. Bales High School, but Harry offers to give him a ride in his sports car.
Nico Minoru tells Parker that he is the talk of the whole school, now that he apparently hangs out with Harry, who is a social media celebrity. Minoru tells Parker that Harry is not the person he should be around, considering his privileged background, but Parker points out that she is following Harry on social media, putting her on the spot. She tells Parker that he has been around various high profile people as of recent and is worried that he does not have enough time for himself, and Parker appreciates Minoru's concern.
Lonnie Lincoln gets summoned by Phil Grayfield to discuss him skipping football practice, and Lincoln says that he has personal things to take care of. Grayfield sympathizes with Lincoln but tells him that he should take practice seriously as he has a great future ahead of him. Lincoln declines a call from Big Donovan and assures Grayfield that he is fully dedicated to the team and his future, no matter how it looks like. Leaving Grayfield's office, Lincoln runs into Pearl Pangan who had been listening from outside and asks if he wants to talk, but Lincoln replies that everything is alright.
Parker and Minoru talk about the recent conflict between the Avengers and Minoru notices that Parker is being strangely quiet when she mentions Captain America. She wonders if he is too busy texting with Harry but Parker tells her that he was buying them tickets to a movie she was looking forward to, surprising Minoru.

Lincoln joins Ravens for a practice for the first time in a while, much to the team's excitement, although he keeps getting calls from Big Donovan. He is not pleased that Lincoln has been ignoring his texts to come to the hideout, indifferent to his excuses. Big Donovan claims that the Scorpions are moving in on their territory, so he needs the whole 110th Street Gang ready to confront them. Lincoln tries to explain that he has a football practice and cannot get to Harlem soon enough, but Big Donovan reveals that he sent Bulldozer to pick him up. Lincoln is worried that he might get kicked out of the team but Big Donovan does not care and forces him to come.

Spider-Man goes on a patrol and talks to Harry, who opens up about his life being rather boring and lonely despite all the luxuries his wealth and fame can afford him. The two also talks about the new Spider-Man Suit and find out that they are both Captain America's fans, despite him being labeled a criminal.
Using her new helmet, Masaryk demolishes the prison and liberates Mikhail Sytsevich, Dmitri Smerdyakov and Roxanna Volkov. Police Department of New York City tries to stop them, but Masaryk's destructive lasers allow her to put up a resistance. The gang is surprised to see Masaryk's new firepower that she received from Octavius, and although Smerdyakov suggests to get out soon, Masaryk refuses and decides to have some more fun fighting the police.
Harry informs Spider-Man about the jailbreak and gives him the coordinates, so he rushes over there to assist the police against Masaryk. Spider-Man attempts to take her down, but Masaryk's firepower and combat skills prove to be a significant challenge for him. While the two fight, Smerdyakov and Volkov decide to flee the scene while they still can, but Sytsevich stays behind as he cannot leave Masaryk behind after she saved them.

Big Donovan brings Lincoln, Bulldozer and the rest of the gang on a confrontation with the Scorpions, led by Carmilla Black and Mac Gargan. Gargan is looking forward to the fight with 110th Street Gang, ignoring Big Donovan's warnings to leave their territory and ordering the Scorpions to engage. As the fight progresses, Lincoln spots Gargan preparing to attack Big Donovan from behind, and rushes in to protect him, which puts him in danger. As Gargan prepares to kill Lincoln, the police arrives to break the fight, so both gangs disperse.

Spider-Man finds himself at a disadvantage while fighting Masaryk, especially when she purposefully endangers civilians and forces him to come to their rescue. Sytsevich suggests Masaryk to get away while they have a chance, but she refuses to back down until Spider-Man is taken out. Spider-Man manages to pull himself together and put up a fight once the civilians clear the scene but Masaryk anticipated that and targets Sytsevich, knowing that Spider-Man would swoop in to protect him as well. As she predicted, Spider-Man rushes to shield Sytsevich and takes Masaryk's laser beam for Sytsevich, which puts him out of the fight. Sytsevich is shocked that she would endanger his life so easily to get Spider-Man, but Masaryk ignores him and only focuses on Spider-Man.
As she prepares to finish off Spider-Man, Sytsevich saves him by takes Masaryk's helmet off of her, saying that the Avengers might arrive if they keep lingering. Masaryk lashes out on him for stopping her and acting out of line, but then both of them get surrounded by the police, and Spider-Man uses his chances to disarm Masaryk and web her up. Spider-Man thanks Sytsevich but he claims that he saved him only so they would be even, saying that now both he and Masaryk will be arrested because of him. The police confiscates the helmet, taking both criminals into custody, and Sytsevich warns him that if they meet again, Spider-Man will not get away so easily.
Exhausted from the fight, Spider-Man rides the bus to Oscorp Tower, talking with Harry about how difficult it is to combine his high school life with crimefighting. He suddenly remembers that he promised Minoru to watch a movie with her and rushes over to the cinema, making it there just in time. Minoru is worried about Parker's bruises and notices that he brought Harry over to join them. Parker explains that he is grateful to Harry and does not want him to spend the night all alone and although Minoru is still unsure about Harry, she tells Parker that it is not a problem.
As the 110th Street Gang returns to their hideout, Big Donovan and others celebrate Lincoln who risked his life in a fight with Gargan. Big Donovan says that Lincoln proved himself and is now a certified member of the gang, to which Lincoln asks Big Donovan to stop calling him "Superstar". In response, Big Donovan comes up with a nickname "Tombstone", which is more to Lincoln's liking.
