- "He insisted on calling himself Egyptian. But... I think we're looking at the long-lost tomb of Alexander the Great."
- ―Steven Grant
The Tomb is the fourth episode of the first season of Moon Knight.
Synopsis[]
Marc & Steven must find balance as supernatural threats ahead look to stop them.
Plot[]
Steven Grant succeeds in pinpointing the location of Ammit's tomb, although it cost him Khonshu and the Moon Knight powers. After a brief encounter with the Disciples of Ammit, Layla El-Faouly takes them out and after Grant wakes up, they both continue their journey through the desert. Grant tells El-Faouly that he and Marc Spector had a deal that after they are done with Ammit, Spector will disappear from his life, although El-Faouly was not aware of that. Grant reminds her that Spector did walk away from El-Faouly's life once, so she accepts that she and Grant will proceed together.
Grant and El-Faouly find a dig site from where Arthur Harrow and his men proceeded inside the tomb and prepare to enter. As Spector suspects that Grant may have feelings for his wife, he and El-Faouly share a kiss, as Grant tells her that Spector left her for El-Faouly's sake, as Khonshu could have make her his new avatar. Grant and El-Faouly proceed into the tomb, where Grant solves the riddle of the Eye of Horus, which helps them find a connect route through the maze. Going further, Grant and El-Faouly get confronted by the Heka Priests who were entombed there to protect it, as the priests killed Billy Fitzgerald.
With the priest chasing them, Grant and El-Faouly split up, as Grant manages to squish one of the priests. El-Faouly advances through the edge of the cavern, before being attacked by the second priest, but she manages to kill him. Meanwhile, Grant investigates the tomb he found himself in, while Spector tells him that he was surprised that he told El-Faouly the truth as to why he was pushing her away. Grant then realizes that the tomb belongs to Alexander the Great and that he was Ammit's last avatar, and finds her ushabti hidded inside his throat.
El-Faouly gets approached by Harrow who talks with her about her father, Abdallah El-Faouly, saying that he would be proud that his daughter confirmed the existence of the gods. Harrow then reveals to El-Faouly that Abdallah was murdered by a group of mercenaries, hinting that Spector was one of them. El-Faouly then confronts Spector, who reveals that Abdallah was killed by his partner, who then shot Spector himself, after he tried to stop him. After he was saved by Khonshu, Spector wanted to apologize by El-Faouly, and she realizes that Spector being with her was just his guilty conscience.
Harrow and his disciples then enter the chamber, and while El-Faouly hides, Spector attacks the disciples to buy her some time. Harrow tells Spector that without Khonshu he is now a free man, but he is still determined to stop Harrow from bringing Ammit back, regardless of Khonshu. Spector fights the disciples but Harrow then shoots Spector in the heart, while El-Faouly watches in horror. Harrow solemnly remarks that he cannot save Spector if he refuses to save himself and shoots him the second time, as his body falls into the water.
Spector wakes up at the Putnam Psychiatric Hospital where he, El-Faouly, Bertrand Crawley, and Donna Kraft are patients, while Harrow is a main therapist. While being sedated, Spector gets brought to Harrow's office, where he examines Spector's favorite movie Tomb Buster, with Dr. Steven Grant is the protagonist. Although Harrow claims that he is trying to help Spector, he remembers that he was shot by Harrow and realizes that none of that is real. Spector tries to escape from the hallucination and suddenly meets Grant face-to-face, and as they both try escape, they get approached by Taweret.
