The Incredible Hulk: Front Row Seat Storybook[1] is a book based on The Incredible Hulk.
Synopsis[]
This hardcover picture book for younger readers re-tells the story of the Marvel film, "The Incredible Hulk" with full-colour film stills.[1]
Plot[]
Bruce Banner has been hiding in Porto Verde for five years searching for a cure to the Hulk. He transforms into him when his heart rate goes to high. Banner had completed a serum with the help of Mr. blue online, and he tested it but it failed. He looked back on his life, and remembered when he first transformed into the Hulk and almost killed the love of his life, Betty Ross. He was still determined to find a cure, mailing Mr. Blue a sample of his blood. Mr. Blue also wanted data from his first exposure to gamma radiation so he planned to return to the United States. Meanwhile, the United States Army had been searching for him, getting a lead from a case of gamma poisoning in Milwaukee. Kathleen Sparr told General Thaddeus Ross about this incident and Ross ordered a search for him to be conducted. A few days later, they found him and the two set off to Brazil with a team of special forces led by Emil Blonsky. The team infiltrated his apartment only to discover that Banner had escaped into the street. He went into the Pingo Doce Bottling Plant before turning into the Hulk due to not being able to stop his heart rate from rising. When Banner regained control he discovered that Hulk had ran as far as possible. After he transformed however, he encountered the special forces team. Ross asked Ross about the Hulk and he explained the history. Blonsky asked Ross if he could have some extra strength so Ross arranged for him to have a small does of the Super Soldier Serum.
Banner had managed to make it back to the Culver University, where his experiment took place. However, when he searched for the computer he couldn't find the data. Soon after, he ran into Betty Ross. He explained the Mr. Blue and data situation to her and she explained that his real name is Samuel Sterns and she managed to save the data from his gamma experiments. The two started walking to the Bus Station however they were ambushed in an underpass. There was an explosion and the tunnel filled with smoke. Banner saw Ross' arm get grabbed and that was enough to cause him to turn into the Hulk. The soldiers were shocked and Blonsky tried to fight him but his new strength was not enough. Hulk and the soldiers fought till the soldiers backed down allowing for the Hulk to escape with Ross.
Blonsky was seriously injured from the battle, with doctors saying he would never walk again. However, soon after he was fully healed and determined to defeat the Hulk. He realized he needed to be stronger, so he took a second does of Super Solider Serum a few days later. Banner and Ross had managed to find Sterns in Empire State University. Sterns made an antidote, using electricity to turn Banner into the Hulk. the antidote worked. Ross cried out in joy, however at that moment the special forces arrived and shoot Banner with a tranquilizer and Banner was taken. At the same time, Blonsky demanded that he wanted an injection of "what Banner got or else" and Sterns complied out of fear.
Now in a helicopter with Banner, Thaddeus Ross was happy that it was finally over. However, there was an explosion on the ground. He heard reports of the Hulk on the ground. He quickly realized it was Blonksy who had become the Abomination. Banner informed Ross that the only thing that could stop it was the Hulk. The Hulk soon landed on the ground, stopping Abomination's path of destruction. However, every strike the Hulk threw at the Abomination, the Abomination countered with more strength. Banner was unsure if he could beat the Abomination but he was helpful now that he had a little control over the Hulk.

Behind the Scenes[]
Continuity[]
This section requires expansion |
The book has several differences with the film. Including omitted several characters and scenes like Martina and made several changes. For one, included a detail from the "Bruce and Betty Talk" deleted scene where Bruce Banner acquires the data from his past, although the data is called a memory chip instead of a flash-drive like in the film. Another difference is Banner seems considerably worse at controlling his heartrate than the movie. He transforms during the Ambush in Porto Verde not because he was attacked by tough guys but just from being chased. And he turned from just Betty Ross being grabbed during the Ambush on Bruce Banner and Betty Ross. Samuel Sternsworks at Empire State University instead of Grayburn College. Due to the antidote from Sterns, Banner also gained a small amount of control while in the Hulk form. Therefore, the content of this book is deemed non-canon to the Marvel Cinematic Universe continuity.
