Thanos is a genocidal warlord from Titan who recruited Loki for his quest to collect the Infinity Stones.

Biography[]

In order to obtain the Infinity Stones and wipe out half of the universe's population, Thanos recruited Loki, offering his Chitauri army to conquer Earth in exchange for bringing him the Tesseract. Thanos provided Loki with the Scepter and sent him on Earth, however, Loki was defeated by the Avengers, so Thanos was left without both Space Stone and Mind Stone. When Loki and Sylvie Laufeydottir broke into the Citadel at the End of Time, Miss Minutes suggested that He Who Remains could give Loki enough power to kill Thanos and obtain the Infinity Gauntlet, if Loki accepts his offer.^[1]
