Multiverse Discovered
"He discovered that there were universes stacked on top of his own..."
The subject of this article comes from an alternate universe connecting to the main timeline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This universe is designated as "Forerunner Steve Rogers".

"We were fighting a monster from the skies, armed with a golden glove."
Rogers Hood to Captain Carter[src]

Thanos was a Titan warlord armed with all six Infinity Stones who fought Captain America during the Infinity War. Later on, he was held captive by Doctor Strange at the Sanctum Infinitum, and when he was briefly set loose, he was disintegrated by Erik Killmonger.

Biography[]

Temporal Anomaly[]

What If..

Thanos fights Captain America

"I remember a battle."
Rogers Hood to Captain Carter[src]

Armed with the Infinity Gauntlet and a full set of Infinity Stones, Thanos arrived on Earth and engaged in a fight with Captain America in Wakanda. Captain America managed to evade his attack and hit the Time Stone in his gauntlet with one of his shields, inadvertently causing a temporal anomaly between two separate timelines, which resulted in an Incursion.[1]

Universe Killer[]

What If..

Thanos confronts Captain Carter

Eventually, Thanos was captured by Doctor Strange, who planned to feed him and other so-called universe killers to the Forge to resurrect his deceased reality. Thanos was kept in the Sanctum Infinitum, but was able to break free along with other captives when Captain Carter and Kahhori turned against Strange. Thanos used the Space Stone to open a portal in the hallway right in front of Carter and Kahhori, grabbing Carter's shield with his Infinity Gauntlet. As Thanos prepared for a fight, he was snapped out of existence by Erik Killmonger, who had his own set of Infinity Stones.[2]
