Genetic Experiment[]
Like the other experiments in Batch 89, Teefs was a genetically modified animal given enhanced intelligence and cybernetics by the High Evolutionary. Due to being a walrus, Teefs was unable to move upright and required the use of a sort of wheelchair for his large body to get around. Like the other members of Batch 89, he expressed interest in the new member, 89P13 and welcomed him into the group. Teefs chose his name for the fact his tusks were especially prominent.[1]
Death[]
One day after Rocket came back from a meeting with the High Evolutionary, Teefs was informed with the rest of Batch 89 of the High Evolutionary's true plan for them to be incinerated and Rocket's brain extracted for study. Rocket was able to Jury Rig a keycard for their cages from parts inside his cage and briefly freed Batch 89. Teefs watched in horror as Lylla was fatally shot by their master, and could only watch as Rocket ripped the High Evolutionary's face to shreds, mutilating him. Teefs was shot by guards responding to the incident who missed Rocket and hit him and Floor who were behind the former. Teefs was never able to truly leave his cage, even for but a moment.[1]
Legacy[]
Teefs death along with the rest of Batch 89 was a catalyst for Rocket's cynical and pessimistic personality, causing the young Raccoon to be broken for years to come. He was given no time to mourn them in the moment as he was forced to escape capture. Teefs was seen in a vision by Rocket when he was near death, along with Lylla and Floor before he was resuscitated after his kill switch was deactivated.[1]
Personality[]
Teefs was unique in the fact he spoke with a very jolly and deep British accent, and seemed to be the most jovial of Batch 89 whom he was friends with. Teefs was met with disbelief in the breaking of the news that the High Evolutionary actually planned to incinerate him and his friends. Teefs chose his name due to the prominence of his tusks, and seemed to have no problem making fun of it.
