The Taser Projectile Launcher is a weapon designed to shoot electrified projectiles capable of incapacitating a variety of targets, including some targets with variable forms of superhuman abilities.

History

Antoine Triplett shot at Deathlok with a Taser Projectile Launcher when he attacked Triplett and John Garrett at a S.H.I.E.L.D. safe house in Australia. Triplett managed to hit Deathlok's armored vest and prosthetic leg to weaken him before attempting to sedate him with an I.C.E.R.. However, Deathlok managed to stay on his feet and remove the taser projectiles before escaping through the ceiling.[1]

Taser Rifle

Skye shoots tasers at the Absorbing Man

Skye used a Taser Projectile Launcher to subdue Carl Creel when he attacked General Glenn Talbot in Washington, D.C., in an attempt to kidnap him and force him to reveal the location of the Obelisk.[2]

Capabilities

The Taser Projectile Launcher is a specialized gun that launches dart-like electrified projectiles meant to take down targets by inducing a loss in muscle control. Similar to the concept of modern XREP rounds made for shotguns, this weapon is capable of launching electrified rounds with a higher distance and accuracy, and a similar launching style to modern grenade launchers. Additionally the electrified rounds fired from the gun appear significantly stronger than a normal taser, as the projectile will arc visible electricity across the surface of a target, making it well suited for taking down assailants with variable levels of superhuman durability.

Behind the Scenes

  • The weapon is actually based in the M203PI Grenade Launcher, outfitted with cosmetic insert in the muzzle, a short rail attached to the underside of the barrel, an M203 grip, a laser sight on the under-barrel and a Leupold HAMR sight.
