"I've spent the last 60 days tracking Danny Rand. I know where he sleeps, how he eats, how he thinks and how he fights. And I also know that there are not many people in this world who can handle that thing his fist does."
Mary Walker to Davos and Joy Meachum[src]

Target: Iron Fist is the fourth episode of the second season of the Netflix exclusive television series Iron Fist.

Synopsis

Joy's interrogation of Mary takes a turn. Misty gives Danny an earful. Ward extends an olive branch. Davos makes a crucial discovery.

Plot

At a subway station, Danny Rand is attacked by Mary Walker. She subdues him and destroys his phone, which is connected to a call to Colleen Wing.

Earlier in the day, Wing asks Rand about whether or not he was sure that he saw something at the parlay to cause it to break up. Rand is sure he saw something but admits that it was probably not the Golden Tigers or the Yangsi Gonshi since neither stood to benefit from breaking up the negotiations. Rand blames himself for destroying the one shot at peace they had. They resolve to try and convince Sherry Yang to give diplomacy another chance.

At Walker's apartment, Davos and Joy Meachum question her about the surveillance photos. Walker is adamant that she did not give them to Rand, but Davos insists she must have since they were in his possession. Davos leaves to prepare some things, leaving Joy to talk to Walker.

Ward Meachum and Bethany talk after having spent the night together. They compare experiences, and Bethany tells Ward that due to their relationship, she can no longer be his sponsor and will talk to Carlos about taking over.

Rand and Wing go to visit Sherry in her mansion. The Golden Tigers have seized Red Hook Pier, and the Triads are gearing up for war. Rand and Wing learn that Hai-Qing Yang has had a stroke. While Wing and Sherry talk, Rand finds Yang hooked up to a life-support machine. He investigates, and finds specific bruising on Yang's neck, cluing him into the fact that Yang's strike was caused by Davos. Yang wakes briefly and tells Rand "Hancock 212" as a clue.

Outside, they are met by Misty Knight who has been looking for them. Rand tells her that it is not a good time, but Knight makes it clear that it is not a request. During Rand's fight with the Golden Tigers at the parlay, he injured an undercover police officer, Donnie Chang. Rand and Wing tell her everything that has been going on, and she makes the connection on Hancock 212 – Hancock Transport is a large shipping company, meaning 212 might be a ship or unit number. Rand wants to go to the docks and investigate but Knight wants him to stay out of it. Without telling her, Rand slips out of the balcony while pretending to get some air.

Joy discovers Mary Walker's secret – she suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder, causing her to manifest alter personalities. Mary is one such personality and acts independently when she is in control. It was her that gave Danny the photos.

Davos heads to the docks and kills the Golden Tigers guarding the shipping container. Inside is a body of a former wielder of the Iron Fist. Davos takes his mask and cuts the Mark of Shou-Lao off his chest. Danny arrives at the carnage, too late to stop Davos. Knight and Wing arrive shortly after.

Joy is satisfied that Walker can manage her condition and fulfill the obligations that she has been hired for. Ward tries to make amends with Joy by buying a company that she intended to use in her project with Sofia Rios, but Joy is angry because she wants nothing to do with Ward or Rand Enterprises.

On the subway, Rand is attacked by Walker. She uses a sedative to drug him and beats him into unconsciousness. He is brought to Davos, who – using the Crane Sisters – enacts a ritual which involves tattooing a serpent on his back, using material from the Mark and Rand's blood. The ritual causes the Iron Fist to be transferred to Davos.
