"They had water over their mouths."

Talokanil Respirators are respirators used by Talokanil to breathe when going on land. They can also be used in reverse role for surface breathers to breathe underwater.

History[]

The Talokanil invented the respirators to allow the Talokanil Army to breath above water in order to help Namor take out their enemies when they discovered the Vibranium Detector was leading humans closer to Talokan.

When Attuma and Namora came to abduct its inventor, Riri Williams, Princess Shuri convinced them to take her and Williams alive to Namor, and spare Okoye. Agreeing to do it, Attuma gave his respirator, after dumping out the water from it, to Shuri, with Williams getting another Talokanil's respirator. The Talokanil army would continue using the respirators during the Talokanil-Wakandan War until Shuri and Namor called for a ceasefire.[1]

The respirators' main purpose is to allow the Talokanil, with the exception of Namor, to breath above water, and breathe through water being trapped between the Talokanil's face and respirator. The respirator can also allow those who live above water, like Shuri and Riri Williams, to breath underwater when the water is dumped out of it.
