Split or rename?

The Aether is presumably the Reality Stone in some sort of liquid state. Currently it is an actual stone and is called the "Reality Stone" by Thanos. Should the article be renamed to the Reality Stone and have the Aether as a section? Or split it into two? Lightning Laxus (talk) 16:17, April 30, 2018 (UTC)

Why should the page be split in two? They are the same objects, just in a different state. The page could be renamed, but i don't really see the point, it is called the Aether in most of the mediums. Elledy92 (Elledy92) 20:36, April 30, 2018 (UTC)
Because currently it is not in the "Aether" state, but the stone state. It's implied that the stone state is its original state, given both the Collector and Wong's explanations and Thor's vision. Thanos and Thor refer to it as the "Reality Stone" in the latest movie. And it would be consistent with Space Stone, Mind Stone, Soul Stone, and Power Stone (Time Stone should probably have its own page too, given that the Eye of Agamotto is no more). It's best we treat it with the same consistency as the rest of the Stones. After all, the uses Thanos had for the Reality Stone had nothing to do with the uses the Aether had. Also: "Their leader Malekith made a weapon out of that darkness and it was called the Aether." Where "that darkness" was the Stone that came before it.--Shabook (talk) 20:44, May 2, 2018 (UTC)
But it's not like the others: For the Tesseract, the Scepter, the Eye of Agamotto, the Orb, or even the Cosmi-Rod, the Infinity Stone was inside another object. Thor's vision shows the Aether condensing itself to reveal the stone, unlike the others where their respective cages were shattered. Lightning Laxus (talk) 01:50, May 3, 2018 (UTC)
I'm sorry, but there is no consistency here whatsoever. The Aether and the Reality Stone are the same thing. The same quote from Odin stated: "While the other relics often appear as stones the Aether is fluid and everchanging." And Thor's vision in Age of Ultron clearly show the Aether changing into the Stone. So what's the point in having this two pages? Elledy92 (talk) 21:33, May 5, 2018 (UTC)
To be honest, I just wanted a "Reality Stone" page ASAP. If I rename it, I knew by precedence that it would be reverted, so I split it instead. It still works, kinda, since the Aether has vastly different properties and usage, and it was supposedly a weapon created by Malekith. It should be easy to merge again, if needed. What's the point of having two articles about the same thing? The Aether page will be renamed Reality Stone and that's it.--UskokS.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters - Playground 14:27, May 6, 2018 (UTC)
Good to hear, but you should've merged the pages instead of reverting it back to a previous state ... Now I have to reinstall some edits. :| Lightning Laxus (talk) 14:57, May 6, 2018 (UTC)
