T'Chaka is the King of Wakanda and the father of T'Challa.
Biography[]
Losing His Son[]
T'Chaka had a son with Ramonda, who they named T'Challa. T'Challa became interested in what happened outside of Wakanda, and while T'Chaka encouraged the explorer in him, he warned his son against exploring the outside world. He said that a world which occupied itself with war had nothing to offer their country. That night, T'Challa was abducted by the Ravagers, who took him in as one of their own. Missing his son, T'Chaka sent a ship into space with a message looking for T'Challa. T'Challa and Ramonda had a second child, Shuri.[1]
T'Challa's Return[]
In 2008, T'Challa returned to Wakanda with the Ravagers and was greeted by T'Chaka, Ramonda, and Shuri. T'Challa apologized to his father for being gone for so long and introduced him to his team. Wakanda held a party to celebrate T'Challa's return, during which T'Chaka asked T'Challa and Yondu Udonta how T'Challa had gone missing in the first place. Udonta got flustered as he struggled to find a way to explain that he had accidentally kidnapped T'Challa, but T'Challa cut him off and told his father that Udonta and the Ravagers gave him a home.[1]
