Multiverse Discovered
"He discovered that there were universes stacked on top of his own..."
The subject of this article comes from an alternate universe connecting to the main timeline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This universe is designated as "Killmonger's War".

"Thank you, nephew. You've made your uncle and father proud."
―T'Chaka to Erik Killmonger[src]

King T'Chaka is King of Wakanda, husband of Queen Ramonda, and father of T'Challa and Shuri.

Biography[]

"Know that wherever life's journey takes you, you'll always have a home in Wakanda."
―T'Chaka to Erik Killmonger[src]

The King of Wakanda, T'Chaka fathered a son, T'Challa, later followed by a daughter, Shuri. He frequently shared stories with his son about how he and his brother N'Jobu used to watch the sunset from the top of Mount Bashenga. T'Chaka made T'Challa the new Black Panther, sending him in missions to protect the interests and the safety of Wakanda. However, during one of those missions where T'Challa was meant to stop an illegal transaction of Vibranium, he was ambushed and murdered by Erik Killmonger. T'Chaka thus mourned his son alongside the rest of his family.

Later, T'Chaka learned of Killmonger's arrival in Wakanda. T'Chaka was unaware of Killmonger's involvement in his son's death and, as he claimed to be the son of N'Jobu, T'Chaka admitted to his wife Ramonda that he had kept the existence of N'Jobu's son a secret. He thus welcomed Killmonger into the Golden Tribe and, with the threat of an American-Wakandan War that had secretly been orchestrated by Killmonger, T'Chaka held a war council during which he approved Killmonger's plan of letting the Stark Liberator Drones approach the Golden City to deactivate them using the protective dome surrounding the city. T'Chaka inquired to Ramonda about her opinion, and after getting her approval, he sanctioned the plan.

As the battle was about to happen, T'Chaka fully followed the plan, ordering the dome to be lifted to allow the drones to march against the city before reactivating it, thus stopping the drones. With this apparent victory, T'Chaka expressed his gratitude to Killmonger and promised that he would always have a home in Wakanda. Even though the drones were reactivated shortly thereafter thanks to Killmonger's secret remote control, T'Chaka could watch his Wakandan armies destroy the drones while Killmonger himself demonstrated his valor in battle. Entirely fooled by Killmonger's trickery, T'Chaka made him the new Black Panther after accepting to reconsider N'Jobu's former idea that Wakanda should provide their technology to other oppressed people around the globe.[1]

Personality[]

"Are you certain about this, baba? Entrusting our fate to this outsider."
"He is family."
Shuri and T'Chaka[src]

T'Chaka was a warm and trusting individual, as well as a benevolent King to Wakanda. Upon witnessing the arrival of Erik Killmonger in Wakanda, he expressed elation at the idea of his nephew returning to his home country, unaware that Killmonger actually was to blame for his son's death. He expressed nothing but kindness to Killmonger, even going as far as making him the new Black Panther.
