―T'Chaka[src]

King T'Chaka is the leader and monarch of Wakanda, assuming the throne and the role of Black Panther. When Peter Quill invaded and attacked Earth, he aided S.H.I.E.L.D. and joined the Avengers, a team of individuals with unique abilities like himself, to apprehend him and later challenge the Celestial Ego's plans to terraform the planet. After succeeding, Black Panther willingly took part in a new mission with them to stop Ego in person in outer space.

Black Panther confronts Quill

Black Panther attempts to trap Peter Quill

Black Panther exited the ship to gain a position where he could observe the threat, which was a child, making Black Panther doubtful of the danger. However, witnessing Quill using his powers, Black Panther changed his mind and informed the team that he had eyes on the child. Lawson told the team to trap Quill, so Ant-Man lured him to Black Panther so he could tranquillize the boy. But, when Black Panther calmly approached Quill, he was attacked, forcing him to retreat. With Quill proving to be too strong, the team decided to return to the Asis, but Quill stopped them. They were saved when Thor arrived and defeated Quill.

The team returned to the base and listened to Thor reveal that multiple worlds had been destroyed as part of Ego's Expansion, and that the only way to stop it is for a Celestial to destroy the seedling. However, Hope van Dyne freed Quill from his cell, so the team discussed how to stop the Expansion and Quill, with Black Panther strongly being against killing Quill.

Despite being able to hold his own for a while, Black Panther and the others were eventually overwhelmed and swarmed by the copies. However, Ego was ultimately defeated when Ant-Man and Mar-Vell arrived with Quill.

To celebrate their victory, the team gathered at Ant-Man's house, where Black Panther shared a drink with Goliath, Thor, and Howard Stark, having never tried light beer before and enjoying it. As they had dinner, Thor revealed that Ego was still alive and and that he would avenge those who fell victim to him. Now a part of a team, Black Panther and the others decided to join Thor in his mission to ultimately defeat Ego once and for all.[1]
