Symbiotes are a race of extraterrestrial beings that exist across the Multiverse and can bond with any sentient species.
History[]
Multiversal Travels[]
One symbiote, Venom, was transported from his universe to another universe, along with its host, Eddie Brock, when Doctor Strange messed up a spell to make everyone forget that the Peter Parker from that universe was Spider-Man.[3] The spell brought in people who were aware that Parker was Spider-Man, due to symbiotes sharing a hive mind that trascended universes,[4] Venom and its host arrived to this new universe. They both saw a The Daily Bugle report made by J. Jonah Jameson when he was railing against Peter Parker recently outed as Spider-Man.[5][6]
When Strange cast a spell to return all of the multiversal travelers back to their home universe, Venom and its host were transported home, except for a small piece of the Venom symbiote that was left behind.[3]
Alternate Universe[]
- "I fought an alien made of black goo once."
- ―Spider-Man[src]
In an alternate universe, Spider-Man battled with a symbiote.[3]
Characteristic Traits[]
Symbiotes are parasitic lifeforms that need to bond onto other species known as hosts.
