Multiverse Discovered
"He discovered that there were universes stacked on top of his own..."
The subject of this article comes from an alternate universe connecting to the main timeline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This universe is designated by the Marvel Cinematic Universe Wiki as "Framework".

"If you think you can force me, Sunil Bakshi, to go on air and slander HYDRA, then you're delusional. I am the most trusted voice in journalism."
―Sunil Bakshi[src]

Sunil Bakshi was a virtual recreation of the real-world person of the same name inside the Framework. A HYDRA loyalist, Bakshi was in charge of spreading the organization's propaganda through his program The Bakshi Report. While reporting on the death of the Patriot and the attack on Madame Hydra, Bakshi and all his staff were attacked by S.H.I.E.L.D. agents who sent out a new message of hope from his network to the people of the world.

Biography[]

The Bakshi Report[]

Loyal to HYDRA[]

Sunil Bakshi is the host of The Bakshi Report, a program that praises HYDRA and its activities. As reported by the HYDRA Observer, Bakshi was the recipient of the Honor of Lifetime Achievement in the Field of Excellence Award at the Snakies, an annual award show presented by Roxxon, beating out other nominees including Jasper Sitwell, John Garrett, and Buddy. He won this award five times in a row.[3] When HYDRA organized a parade to honor Felix Blake and the Humans First movement, Bakshi was among the attendees.[1] While he sent out propaganda messages to the people until the direct orders of HYDRA's leadership, Bakshi's voice was also used by HYDRA to brainwash children at the HYDRA Enlightenment Cultivation Center in order to ensure they remained loyal to their rule over the world without question.[4]

Reporting the Patriot's Death[]

"We are pleased to report the Patriot has been killed. That man will no longer stand as a symbol of evil and villainy."
―Sunil Bakshi[src]

Bakshi reporting on the death of the Patriot

Following the Infiltration into the HYDRA Enlightenment Cultivation Center, Sunil Bakshi addressed the matter in his show, presenting the Patriot as an evil terrorist who had been eliminated thanks to HYDRA. Bakshi used this event as a warning, stating that danger could come from everywhere.[5]

Reporting the Triskelion Attack[]

"We can use archival footage, placate the public. They'll never know the difference."
"Well, no, I don't want the public placated. I want them afraid."
"Well, what do you need from me?"
―Sunil Bakshi and The Doctor[src]

Bakshi was informed about the events of the Escape from the Triskelion. He told his audience that an Inhuman had assaulted Madame Hydra but that the latter was unharmed when she was actually severely wounded after falling from the Triskelion's upper levels.

Sunil Bakshi meets The Doctor

Later, Bakshi went to the Triskelion and met with The Doctor, asking him whether it was possible to have Madame Hydra come to The Bakshi Report for an interview. The Doctor refused and Bakshi offered to use archive footage instead to reassure the people. However, The Doctor wanted to make the people afraid and ordered Bakshi to disclose the identities of the two fugitives, Daisy Johnson and Melinda May, so that they could be arrested.[5]

Confronted by S.H.I.E.L.D.[]

"We don't need you to say a damn thing. The facts will speak for themselves."
Daisy Johnson to Sunil Bakshi[src]

While preparing for his daily show, Bakshi was assaulted by S.H.I.E.L.D. agents who stormed the HYDRA Broadcasting Center and tied up the staff, including Bakshi, so that they could broadcast an emergency message of their own. Bakshi taunted them, stating that he would never publicly talk against HYDRA, but after Daisy Johnson showed him her powers, he was ready to comply. However, Johnson told him that they did not need him.

Following the broadcast, Burrows informed Grant Ward that people were gathering outside the Broadcasting Center. Bakshi grinned as he thought that HYDRA supporters had come to rescue him whereas it was actually rebels who had come to help S.H.I.E.L.D.[5]

Deletion[]

Like everyone else in the Framework, Baskhi was deleted when Aida initiated the complete shutdown of the virtual reality.[2]

Personality[]

In the Framework, Sunil Bakshi was an arrogant and vain individual. Having reached a position of power as HYDRA's voice, Bakshi considered himself the most trusted journalist in the world and could not envisage that he could be assaulted or even contradicted. Bakshi also used his position to heavily hit on young women working with him, offering to take them somewhere and knowing that they would be afraid to rebuff him. Despite his aggressive tone towards HYDRA's enemies whenever he was on air, Bakshi was far less brave in real life, and when Daisy Johnson demonstrated only a small fraction of her powers, Bakshi declared that he was willing to publicly talk against HYDRA.

Abilities[]

  • Expert Tactician: Bakshi was the face of news channels as a part of the HYDRA broadcasting organization. This allowed him to give insider scoops on recent events along with any news that HYDRA commanded him to report on, such as the death of John Garrett, and manipulate the public opinion to further HYDRA's goals.

Facilities[]

  • HYDRA Broadcasting Center: As the host of the HYDRA propaganda show known as The Bakshi Report, Bakshi mostly worked in the HYDRA Broadcasting Center where the show was recorded and broadcast. Shortly prior to his last show, he was attacked by a group of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents who sieged the broadcasting center, leaving Bakshi tied up to its fate.
