The "Steve Rogers' Married Life" Universe is a universe created by Steve Rogers as he traveled back in time to 1949 so he could marry Peggy Carter.

History[]

Steve Rogers' Appearance[]

Steve Rogers appeared in 1949, having time traveled from his own universe's 2023 in order to live a happy life with her. The two dance together in Carter's house as music played behind them. Rogers and Carter lived a full life together, and Rogers eventually returned to his own universe to give his shield to Sam Wilson.[1]

Behind the Scenes[]

  • There is significant disagreement between Avengers: Endgame directors Joe Russo and Anthony Russo and screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely about the nature of Peggy Carter's marriage to Steve Rogers and whether it constitutes a separate universe at all. The Russos stated several times that they believed Rogers married a version of Carter from an alternate timeline,[2][3][4] whereas Markus and McFeely have stated their belief that Rogers married the Peggy Carter from his own timeline.[5][6][7] This led to significant debate among fans, although a former bureaucrat on the MCU Wiki insisted on simply following the Russo brothers' interpretation without discussing that of Markus and McFeely. In August 2025, a discussion was opened regarding the time travel, seeking a consensus so that the wiki's coverage could align with the views of the community. An event consensus was to maintain that Rogers married Carter in an alternate timeline,[8] which resulted in the wiki naming the universe as the "Steve Rogers' Married Life" universe per the wiki's policies.[9]
