Stark Industries was a company created by Howard Stark, who ran it until his death forced Obadiah Stane to take over temporarily till his son Tony Stark could. The company was primarily a weapons company although they also worked in other fields. However when Stark returned from being kidnapped, Stark shut down the weapons division. This lead to Stark discovering that Stane had been selling weapons to terrorists and him battling Stane at the company's headquarters.
