"For the good of all Kree!"
Yon-Rogg[src]

The Starforce was an elite military task-force comprised of skilled warriors led by Yon-Rogg in the service of the Kree Empire. It was the former military unit of Captain Marvel, who defected upon discovering her human identity and that the Kree-Skrull War was nothing more than a genocide.

History[]

Kree-Skrull War[]

Aphos Prime Mission[]

Starforce members Vers and Minn-Erva were sent alone on a mission to Aphos Prime, to determine what had happened to the planet when Skrulls were found there. The two women ended up in conflict with the Skrulls present before getting dragged under the planet's muddy surface, where they came across a Skrull and forced him to guide them back to the surface. They managed to escape the planet and bring the Skrull back to Hala as a prisoner, where he was interrogated. Some time later, the team was involved in a mission with a creature that bit Starforce member Bron-Char.[1]

Sy'gyl Mission[]

Starforce later gathered again in a briefing chamber on Hala, where Yon-Rogg revealed that the Kree were considering ending their war against Xandar to focus on the Skrulls. Yon-Rogg tasked the team with a mission to infiltrate the Xandarian-controlled planet Sy'gyl, where a Xandarian defector would give them plans for a weapon they were developing. They went to Sy'gyl, where it was revealed that Vers would be the one infiltrating the research base despite Att-Lass being the group's stealth expert. The team appraoched the Nar'dath mountain region which housed the base while Vers infiltrated it. Minn-Erva noticed three Nova Corpsmen approaching, so Yon-Rogg and Bron-Char went to deal with them. While Vers came across the weapon's inventor, Peer Kaal, the bunker was hit by a Stealth Bomb and Kaal was killed after giving Vers the plans for the weapon. Minn-Erva returned to the ship with Att-Lass and Korath, where they learned that their pilot for the mission, Sun-Val, had been killed.

Meanwhile, Vers was returned to their ship by Rhomann Dey, who did not wish to stay and meet the team. Vers was met by Yon-Rogg, Bron-Char, and Sun-Val, and the four returned to the ship. Minn-Erva realized that Sun-Val was a Skrull and killed her before Starforce left the planet with the plans.[1]

Ambush in Torfa[]

Starforce was tasked by the Supreme Intelligence to find and rescue Soh-Larr since the Skrulls captured him. The team planned to retrieve Soh-Larr from his current hideout, and return him to Hala. They arrived at Torfa, carefully avoiding interaction with the Torfans. While the rest of the team were strategically positioned in case of a potential attack.

Starforce confront the Skrulls

Vers brashly went to find Soh-Larr, disobeying orders from Yon-Rogg, who indicated to the rest of the Starforce that this was an ambush by the Skrulls, who had been disguised as native Torfans. Minn-Erva was then approached by Att-Lass, though at the same time, she saw him along with Yon-Rogg and the rest of the team, fighting and knew he was a Skrull impostor. The team then escaped from the planet, though Vers was temporarily paralyzed by Talos, who had impersonated Soh-Larr, and she was then taken to their ship.[2]

Traveling to C-53[]

Once Vers escaped the Skrulls' Ship, and crash landed on Planet C-53, she immediately found a way to contact her commander, so as to inform him of her location. The team set course for Planet C-53 to retrieve Vers.[2]

Battle at Mar-Vell's Laboratory[]

After the Kree arrived in Planet C-53, they discovered that Captain Marvel had changed sides, and was instead helping the Skrulls in finding a new home. They traveled to Mar-Vell's ship, as both Vers and the Skrull refugees were located there, and they used their stealth in order to capture Vers and the Skrulls.

Vers was imprisoned and sent to commune with the Supreme Intelligence, while Yon-Rogg was supervising the event. Vers eventually broke free from the mental prison, and ended up face to face against all of her former comrades, facing Yon-Rogg, Korath, Bron-Char, Minn-Erva, and Att-Lass in one-to-one battles. Vers easily defeated them due to being able to use her full powers. Eventually, Vers would help the Skrull refugees escape with Nick Fury and Maria Rambeau, but Minn-Erva pursued them in her own ship.[2]

Final Confrontation[]

Vers chased Yon-Rogg to his ship, and upon realizing she had the powers of flight, destroyed it and sent Yon-Rogg crashing to Earth. After defeating Ronan, who had arrived on Planet C-53 after a communication sent from Yon-Rogg, Vers returned and defeated Yon-Rogg in single combat. She sent him back to Hala with a message telling the Supreme Intelligence that she would end the war with the Skrulls.[2]
