The subject of this article is related to a planned Marvel Cinematic Universe product that was ultimately canceled.

Robert "Robbie" Baldwin is a member of the New Warriors with the ability to manipulate kinetic energy as the superhero Speedball. While on the team, he became an enemy of Ernest Vigman.

Biography[]

In his youth, Baldwin would watch Quinjets take off from Avengers Tower. At some point, he discovered he had the ability to manipulate kinetic energy in the environment, though it was largely ineffectual, as he had little control over this power. At some point, he he gained the superheo alias "Speedball."[1]

He joined the team New Warriors and started living and working together with his teammates: Squirrel Girl, Mister Immortal, Night Thrasher, Microbe and Debrii. They eventually came into conflict with municipal authorities and Ernest Vigman.[2]

Personality[]

Robbie Baldwin loves the idea of being a hero. He’s an impulsive and immature people-pleaser with a misplaced sense of confidence.[1]

Powers[]

  • Kinetic Energy Manipulation: Baldwin can manipulate kinetic energy within his environment, enabling him to form energy balls which he can use as projectiles. Despite this, he has limited control of his powers.[1]

  • In the comics, Speedball got his powers from accidently being infused with extra-dimensional energy at a lab he interned at. He was a founding member of the New Warriors, he was not meant to join the team however Night Thrasher let him due to his help on the team's first mission. He sided with Iron Man during the Superhuman Civil War and often sided with similar initiatives that limited superheroes.
