History[]
Deal with the Guardians[]
The planet Sovereign used powerful and rare Anulax Batteries as a power source for the infrastructures of the planet. However, these batteries were often attacked and devoured by an Abilisk, a multi-dimensional being. As a response, the Sovereign hired the Guardians of the Galaxy to fight the Abilisk.
The Guardians fought and eventually defeated the creature, accepting pay in the form of Nebula. After a conference with the High Priestess Ayesha, the Guardians left the planet, with Rocket stealing several Anulax Batteries without the other Guardians' knowledge. Realizing this, the Sovereign declared war on the Guardians, sending waves of Omnicrafts to attack the Guardians. However, all the Omnicrafts were destroyed by Ego, which caused a massive loss of resources for the Sovereign.[1]
Battle on Ego's Planet[]
High Priestess Ayesha later gathered another fleet of Omnicrafts for another raid she personally took part in against the Guardians of the Galaxy, who were fighting Ego. Many Sovereigns joined the fight, but like what had happened to the first fleet, the Omnicrafts were destroyed. Infuriated, the council members summoned Ayesha for her to explain the waste of supplies in the unsuccessful hunt for the Guardians.[1]
Creation of Adam[]
Enraged by her failure, High Priestess began developing a new type of Sovereign she called Adam.[1]
Alternate Universes[]
Age of Ultron[]
In an alternate 2015, Sovereign was targeted by Ultron, who was in possession of all six Infinity Stones and sought to bring about peace by destroying all life. Peter Quill, Gamora, and Drax the Destroyer attempted to defend Sovereign but were killed by the massive horde of Ultron Sentries and Sovereign was obliterated by Ultron.[2]
