South West England is a region located in England, United Kingdom.

History[]

Convergence Landmarks[]

In order to mark the Convergence on Midgard, ancient civilizations constructed monuments to mark the focal point of the convergence all around what would become England. In South West England, the ancients constructed Stonehenge, a monument that would continue to stand until the next Convergence.[1]

Hydra Castle[]

At a castle in Gloucestershire, members of the organization Hydra would gather in a circle and draw a stone from a bag. If the stone was white, the person would go into a room with the Monolith and disappear on a mission in order to bring back the lost leader of Hydra, Hive. The castle would occasionally hold balls, attracting the attention of the Asgardian Elliot Randolph, who would attend one.[2]

Naked Man[]

When the effects of the next Convergence started to pop up, they drove Erik Selvig mad. Selvig traveled to Amesbury to visit Stonehenge, stripped naked, and began to run around with Gravimetric Spikes. Selvig scared several tourists, and was arrested and taken to jail.[1]

S.H.I.E.L.D. vs. Hydra[]

Accidentally transported to Maveth, S.H.I.E.L.D. traveled to the Hydra Castle in Gloucestershire to rescue Jemma Simmons. Leo Fitz got Simmons back safely, however, they were then kidnapped by Hydra and brought back to the castle. Hydra tortured Simmons and forced Fitz to travel back to Maveth to bring back the Hydra leader, Hive. In order to rescue FitzSimmons, S.H.I.E.L.D. tracked Grant Ward to Gloucestershire and planned an Attack on the Hydra Castle. S.H.I.E.L.D. succeeded in rescuing Simmons and getting Fitz safely back from Maveth, but before S.H.I.E.L.D. could destroy the castle, Hive came through the Monolith and returned to Earth.[2][3][4]
