Once Doctor Strange used the Darkhold to possess his dead counterpart from another universe, the Souls of the Damned confronted his body and the body he was possessing. They began to overwhelm Strange and devour his soul. Christine Palmer managed to protect Strange from the Souls with the Brazier of Bom'Galiath. Strange, using his variant's body, bound the Souls into a cloak around him. He used the Souls of the Damned to attack Scarlet Witch, the Souls surrounded her, but she then used her Chaos Magic to throw them away.[1]
